Since no one else would dare even think about looking up the technical data:

Constitution class Federation Starship: 12 phaser banks, 6 photon torpedo launchers and a crew of 430.

That's it. Compare that with the data I posted on a standard Imperial Star Destroyer nearly two years ago, do the math and come to your conclusions.
