It seems to me that Darth Sidious is the incarnation of the dark side/imbodiment of evil. Everthing he does is for an evil purpose. He manipulated the entire galaxy into war, killing billions. He uses everyone, and then turns on them when he no longer needs them. And what makes him an even more interesting character is that in his eyes he sees nothing he does is wrong. Even in the DE comics he states that he is the dark side. There is no other dark lord as evil as he was, which makes him my favorite character of all time.

You may want to check out the Story "Sithesis" in the Visionaries comic book created by the art staff of "Revenge of the Sith" for Dark Horse Comics. It shows Palpatine's meditation ritual and the ripple effect his powers have on the universe. Very disturbing. I was reminded of the "Neverwhere" deleted sequence from Heavy Metal animated film.

Sure he is evil, from a certain point of view.
But check this out: if those rebels hadn't ruined everything, the might of the Empire would have continued to grow, and the Vong invasion would have been a border skirmish.

Palpatine had plans for the galaxy far worse than what the vong did. He was planning on ruling the entire galaxy with the dark side alone(byss was the prototype). Everyone would have been corrupted by the dark side. So in my opinion the vong invasion was something minor to what Palpatine was capable of.

The good news is that he appears to have a part in the upcoming Clone Wars 3D animated series-they have been showing pictures of Palpatine's Animated form in other venues and since Mr. Lucas is having a firm hand in the animated series-hopefully (cross your Red Sabers :) ) we will learn more of him/it and his seduction of Anakin.

What in the world would Kyle Katarn do to Sidious. Yoda failed in killing Sidious. Kyle is just an ordinary powerful jedi, but Sidious is the most powerful Dark Lord in history.

Palpatine and Vader killed each other, but Palpatine managed to return. When has kyle ever destroyed an entire star fleet with his rage(Palpatine did), or layed waste to an entire army of storm troopers with force lightning(Palpatine did), or lifted several senate pods and threw them with the force(Palpatine did), or corrupted and drained the life force from a planet (Palpatine did). Kyle don't have nothing on Palpatine.

I wonder if they talk about any other Sith legends as being as evil as Darth Sidious? He did kill more than any other Sith being to my knowledge. He controlled the known galaxy. He literaly whiped out the Jedi, save 4 people (yoda, obi wan, luke, and leah). Luke and Leah didn't even know they had force powers. Leah doesn't even know she has power until later in the EU.
This thread is awesome. I never realized how truly Evil he was.
