We all know that Leia has some memory of Padme. Now my question is how do Luke and Leia find out who their mother was.I have already heard of them on Naboo and seeing her portrait also that r2 had a long lost hologram of her and showed luke and leia. Ihave actually searched for this answer for about a decade and I'm tired so I pose this to anyone with answers or a book or somrthing to point me to. I would appreciate a answer.also may the force be with you.

when Leia mentions she remembers her mother's face in RotJ i believe she was referring to her adoptive mother since at that time she had no idea of her connection to Luke. as far as gaining information to their mother, Luke can commune with the force spirits of Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda who all, obviously, knew Padme.

I've never heard of them on Naboo for any reason, but I do know that in the trilogy of books called The Dark Nest Trilogy, an interesting sidestory was R2's "revelation" that he still carried around inside him holograms of their mother and father in their last days. I actually looked forward more to those little sidesteps than the actual story.
Also, its not impossible for Leia to have known of her mother. Remember her mother and adopted father worked together.

I agree Cal, the best part of the Dark Nest trilogy was the R2 side-track... makes me wonder what else is stuck in his head...
R2 has the answers you seek... I couldn't find the specifics on wiki, but if you have time you should read the trilogy...

That's pretty cool callous. I never knew that. But I'm with the others thinking she only knew memories of Breha Organa. Interesting pic here...

Not sure what it's from....

I had always thought that it was clear (i.e. ROTJ novelization) that the memory Leia has was of her biological mother, not her adoptive one (somewhere I think it says something like how hard it was for Leia to recall her biological mother). I should go back and take a peek.
This question is one of the biggest reasons I am upset with the prequels. Honestly. If the question is answered with "Leia remembered her adoptive mother", then I guess it's not so bad, but still...

I always thought Leia remembered her mother through her innate Force abilities, like some kind of residual Force impression that was imprinted in her mind as her mother died. I heard about R2's stored holograms... is that book worth picking up or should I just skim those parts next time I'm at Borders?
Dave- Maybe that pic is from the Force Unleashed? It would be the right timeframe, wouldn't it?

Yeah guess it would be, actually. Maybe we get to kill Leia and use Bail's skull for eating our Froot Loops. And Crystal Light, that whole innate force thing i think is cheese. Plus I agree with you that the prequels really pooched continuity with the OT.

Dark Nest is one of the best trilogies... It picks up after the end of the YV war and brings all kinds of different to the universe. It also shows the first signs of Jacen's destruction.

Alright I'll give you the Force impression thing is cheese, but then most of the prequels are cheese (midichlorians? Maul standing there while he gets sliced?).
Smells like Gouda.

You really liked the Dark Nest Trilogy, Seus? I didn't care for it that much. I mean, I still enjoyed it cause it was Star Wars and it served as a good connector between the NJO series and the LotF series, but it wasn't one of my favs.
Darth Zeke, I'd pick them up if you are or are planning on reading the Legacy of the Force series. I think I would have been like, HUH?, on a lot of things if I hadn't read them.

I liked that Dark Nest was so different... Jacen's all spookey, Leia is hard, the complete addiction of Jania and the other young Jedi bug-lovers, we got to see more of the Chiss... so many little and interesting things pulled into one series...

Yeah, to tell you the truth, I'm a big fan of Jaina, so I didn't like her becoming "joined."
