Why did they not make a 3d version movie of Star Wars Shadows of the Empire? Vader would look nice in a 3d animated movie

The Clone Wars animation would be the perfect medium to do SotE. Lucas has stated on a few occasions that if he were to make one of the books into a movie it would be Shadows. Plus it would appease all us old timers. I, for one, would prefer an animated movie of anything that takes place during the original trilogy over anything that takes place before or after the saga movies.

And in regards to dredging up such an old story, wasn't that essentially doing with SW as a whole back in 99? I think SotE would look pretty good in the clone wars style of things.
