Not only that Tyvokka but the Suns are a run and gun team and they can't do a whole lot of running with Shaq in there. We talked about the deal at length yesterday at work and my thinking was if they got Shaq for the playoffs to match up with Duncan then it's a good deal even though they gave up the Matrix, Shawn Marion. Not a deal I personally would have made, then again I wouldn't have given up 2 players and 2 first rounders for Pau Gasol, either

I concur Tyvokka--the Suns gave up too much to get too little in return and again Shaq doesn't fit their run-and-gun style

The suns were going to make the playoffs anyway with or without Marion, they need a big man to get past the Spurs and/or Lakers. Marion would have opted out at the end of the year anyway so they didn't give up that much, plus they unloaded Banks huge contract. Good move by the Suns

Maybe so SL but Shaq doesn't have much left in the tank and Duncan is one of the smartest players in the league so I don't see the scales tipping in the Suns favor...as much as I hate the Spurs and Popovich they are still the team to beat in the West even with the Suns getting Shaq
