"Oh, yes, graphic novels are included. I consider them legitimate books, but I guess we should vote on it (later, enough to vote on for now).
Thanks for bringing that up, Elizabeth, but please don't add additional books after you have already voted."
I wasnlt trying to to suggest more titles yet. Was pointing out that sometimes graphic novels get overlooked because most people who run book clubs think of graphic novels as not legitimate books.
Sorry if it looksed like I was trying to suggest more books..

"Also remember everyone, depending on your location you may have the books we vote on at your local library. The libraries here have several Star Wars titles. They also have a few books on disc, cassette and MP3 for the Star Wars reader on the go!"
In my library, you gotta go to Interlibrary Loan for that and I am currently waiting for my copy of Jedi Twilight to arrive, so I wait.

Aden: Depending on where you are, you could probably have your library get them for you thorugh Interlibrary Loan...that's how I got my hands on a copy id the "Shadows of the Empire II: Evolution" graphic novel earlier this year.
And sorry for how many replies I am posting. It's too easy for me to forget someone I wanted to reply directly to if I post one massive reply.

WANDERING Mandalorian WIZARD: That was a good book, wasn't it? The teo most recent STAR WARS novels I can remember reading were "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" and "The Force Unleashed"...but as I have said, I am waiting for "Jedi Twilight" and will probably soon add "Vector Prime" to the list of books I am waiting for.

Latest news:
Voting for 1st book preferences and Rule #1 proposal will close by the end of today, Sunday (no matter your time-zone). Basically, as long as we do not officially announce that this round of voting is closed, you may still vote.
So hurry and get your vote in!
To vote for the 1st book you would like the group to cover, please select three books and post them, in rank order, on this thread (see previous examples of others who have already voted)
Rule #1 proposal: That we cover only those books that have been released in paperback in order to help cut costs and promote participation.
Vote "yea" or "nay" for Rule #1 (rule proposals will be decided by the majority of those who vote for the rule).
After we tabulate the votes, we will report them and finally get to discussing a book sometime early this week (as we become more practiced, deadlines, dates, and rules will be more regular and efficient).
So again, just keep voting!

As PooBah Knight Mookiee has mentioned, all votes have been accounted for and tabulated and voting for both Rule #1 and for the first book we will cover are now closed.
A quick breakdown of the voting results (I'll post a more thorough one in a new book club thread):
RULE #1: There was not a single dissenting vote for those who voted for Rule #1; therefore, the WOSW SW Book of the Month Club will only not cover new, more expensive hardcover books, but will instead wait until the book is released in paperback.
Book Preference Voting Results:
Results bases on the point system, which gave more "weight" to votes ranked higher (1st = 3pts, 2nd =2pts, and 3rd =1pt):
1) Republic Commando: Hard Contact
2) I, Jedi
3) Vector Prime
4) Heir to the Empire; and Splinter of the Mind's Eye (tie)
5)Darth Bane: Path of Destruction
6)Coruscant Nights 1: Jedi Twilight; Darth Bane: Rule of Two; @#$%terpoint; Star by Star; and Triple Zero (tie)
Results based on number of votes only (no weighted point system):
1) Heir to the Empire
2) Hard Contact; and I, Jedi (tie)
3) Coruscant Nights 1: Jedi Twilight; Darth Bane: Path of Destruction; Darth Bane: Rule of Two; Splinter of the Mind's Eye
I posted both ways of counting to illustrate the difference results from the two methods, and also to hopefully show how weighting higher ranked votes yields more definitive and clear results that best represent what members who voted would REALLY like to cover first.
A good upcoming rule to vote on would be which counting method members prefer (among other things).
However, since we used the weighted system this time around, the first book will will cover is....
Republic Commando: Hard Contact
Again, voting and this thread is now closed (please do not post here anymore--a new book of the month thread will be up shortly).
And we will also make a thread to discuss Hard Contact sometime this week (still working on a couple rules of conduct before we start the discussion--plus, I future book discussions will start on the 1st of each month, so we will actually be discussing/critiquing Hard Contact for a little more that a month).
Quick recap: The First, new and improved, WOSW Book of the Month Club book for the month of November is...
Republic Commando: Hard Contact
And this thread is now officially closed. Please DO NOT POST HERE anymore.
