Re:Should authors continue to write about Han, Luke and Leia now that they are reaching retirement?

I think they should be phased out, but not completely. It should just start by them making less and less appearances in the books. We've already seen Valen Horn in one of the books and he's just a start. I think that if they gradually started moving them to the side and focusing more on Jaina, Ben and other younger Jedi it would bring new life into the books.

So far in the LotF series they've focused more on Jaina, Zekk and Jag and what their mission has been. If they can do that while bringing more of the younger Jedi from the YJK series then I think it would be more interesting.

There's already books in the works about the big 3 when they were younger, so it's just a natural progression of the SW Universe. We knew about Vader when he was older through the OT and on and now we're learning about him as Anakin Skywalker from the PT and the books leading up to the OT. There's still lots of room for the big 3 to be in books, but lets start phasing them out, NOT killing them off yet, but phasing them out of importance in the affairs of the galaxy.
