Hard Contact. My sort of review.
Read HC a while ago now so can't rember everything from it.
It seemed to get off to a good start, with lots of action at the beginning (which i like), though having really short action in the prologue only to whip us back out was a bit unsettling for me. Before i could get into the action i was out of it and somewhere totally different. Sometimes it can be good, but this time it wasn't a peacful transfer.
The book was good and certaintly a new, and succesful, idea. However for me the book didn't stand out. Normally with a good book you can get into a state where you can be reading for a certain amount of time and then look up to find only a few minutes have passed but a lot more pages are behind you. With HC a couldn't really get into this state. Now this may have nothing to do with the book or Karen, it could just have been my mental state of mind or something like that, i'm not sure.
So for me it was really just another Star Wars book, nothing that stood out but a good read anyway.
Another thing about the book was that it way too short, by far the thiniest Star Wars book i've bought, not read because i used to read the Jedi Apprentice books. I don't know really how Karen could have extended it, and she did seem to get quite a lot into it, i just feel it could have been longer. I suppose it could have something to do with that all the other books in the trilogy are quite long and so seem to overshadow HC, i really am not sure.
