Star Wars Art Team

Welcome to the Star Wars Art Team, this is a place to hone and learn new art skills when creating fan art. Everyone, please keep an open mind and think before you type. If you are going to critique someone’s work, don’t do it out of spite, and give reasons to your thoughts. There are many different ways to do a single task and nothing is impossible. Anyone can make art and anything can be considered art, it all depends on your point of view. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, so let’s help each other grow as artists. These are the rules:

1. SWAT will be open to any and all WoSW members.
2. Nobody makes fun of others people's work, but critiquing someone's work in a professional manner is fine as long as there are valid reasons attatched to them.
3. Collaborations will be voted on by members in SWAT Missions.
4. Duration of the time to finish will be voted on by SWAT members.
5. You may only take one Padawan on at a time, two if you feel like you can devote more time. All Padawans will be taught over at the Graphic Holocron, where they can use the information of many Masters to learn what they desire.

I assume this is the place to post our artwork. Here is my lightsaber attempt using microsoft paint and corel painter essential 2 program. with microsoft gif animator for the animation. This is simple lightsaber painting done with animation to show how it was constructed from simple shapes. There was some loss in the resolution of the handle as it was animated in gif. Her is the link to the animation on photobucket. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q26/willie71/lightsaber5.gif

Here is another simple animation. Line work done with microsoft paint and coloring done with corel painter essential 2 with animation done with microsoft gif animator.

I based this saber from Cade Skywalkers and changed the blade to red to show the similarities between his saber and Darth Vader. Bot have similar shaped sabers and just had fun doing the animation. Here is the link to it.

Wow I really like the saber You made Empress! Very cool! I like that folding look to it! The saber by Ronin is great as well! Great work and that got me back to work on my picture! Thanks! Makto I really like the saber handles you have. Those look great. I'm not much at constructing things more drawing and imagination. All the artwork submitted is great. Here is my next few pieces. This is the saber I was working on last week I think. It is a combination of Damascus steel and Adamantine. Here is link to it http://darthmater.deviantart.com/art/Damascus-Adamantine-LightSaber-113231371?submitted=1

Here is second link with blade ... http://darthmater.deviantart.com/art/DAMADAM-113232376?submitted=1

Well I wanted to go for something gothic and evil! Here's my sabers while inactive!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q24/robertrodriguez83/Saber.jpg

When you press on the eye's of the bat figure, it activates the sabers!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q24/robertrodriguez83/Saber4.jpg

When you press on the fangs, it magnetically connects the two!

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q24/robertrodriguez83/Saber3.jpg

I made this in Photoshop!

Great Work Rav and Darth Boobius! I like the dark gothic look to those sabers! I've got one more idea and I think I'm running out of ideas.

Here are my two latest creations. The first is a bone handled lightsaber with sith carvings or some kind of ancient words carved into the handle. Perhaps this is what Sideous did with the remains of Darth Plagius??? http://tinyurl.com/dz8gxl

The second lightsaber is also a sith creation. Made from a special crystal that is actually grown around the electronics of the saber itself. http://tinyurl.com/bkrsg6
