Rogan: the story of a rogue jedi

Random Facts?:

This story takes place 50 years after the New Republic was formed.

Each chapter begins with a monologue from Rogan himself explaining his life prior to the beginning of the story.

Characters:
I'm kind of making this up as I go so I'm not sure who's going to be in it. But I'm pretty sure nobody from the films or books will make an appearance.

This is my First Fanfic and my first story in general. Sorry in advance for spelling errors, and I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 1

“I remember it like it was yesterday, Ordrick and I were in the training room when we herd the first blaster shots from the hall. He had been teaching me how to wield a duel-lightsaber. He told me to stay where I was and went to investigate, when the doors slid open two clone troopers stood on the other side, their blasters at the ready, but my brother was too quick for them. His light saber turned on and shut off faster than I had time to realize what happened. He had sliced the two blasters and began to question the troopers when another came from behind the two and blasted Ordrick in the shoulder. I started running to his side my training saber at the ready, but by the time I got there he had already killed the troopers. He told me that he could feel a disturbance in the force and that the clone troopers had turned on us. I thought we should run away but he told me that the temple was our home and that we should defend it. I was scared but his words calmed me down, he told me to inspect the other training rooms to the left, and he would go right. I did what I was told and started down the corridor, the echoing of my boots had never seemed as loud as they had then, everything seemed normal at first but then I turned the corner and it was as if I had entered a different place. Bodies of Jedi and troopers alike were scattered down the scorched hallway. Why? Why were the clone troopers doing this? I was scared and confused but then my brother appeared by my side. I remember him saying that the other side was just like this one. Sometimes I forgot just how fast my brother could be, he was faster than most other Jedi knights, and could even rival some of the masters. As if he knew what I was thinking he told me that when we got out of this, he’d teach me how to enhance my speed with the force. But then a crowd of troopers stormed in from the opposite end of the hallway. Ordrick force pushed the troopers to the ground and told me to run, he said that he would “handle them.” I tried to argue but he force pushed me past them and I tumbled out of the hallway as the doors slid shut behind me.”

Rogan, a young boy no more than nine years old was running down a corridor. A clone trooper farther down spotted him and took aim. As the trooper fired, rogan pulled out his training light saber and threw it directly at him. It deflected the shots and then stabbed the trooper through the head. He tried force pulling it back, but his will was not strong enough. He reached the end of the hallway and pulled his saber from the wall. In the next room he could hear two troopers.
"Pile the bodies in the corner over there."
One of them said.
"Yes Sir"
Rage filled the boy, some of those people were his friends. He ran through the door jumping on the back of the first one and slamming his light saber straight down, then he turned to the other and swung once to break his blaster, the second swing tore through the trooper's chest. He then looked over at the pile of bodies; he knew he couldn't kill all the troopers here, not with his inadequate tanning. His only chance of survival was to hide, hide until someone could save him. He ran over to the pile pulling one of the bodies back, then another, and another. Once he created a pocket big enough for him to fit in, he pulled the other bodies back on top of him and waited. He made it so that there was a little room for him to see what was going on. Soon two troopers ran in, one of them was speaking to a radio.
"Sir there appears to have been a struggle in the training room, but everything's clear now."
Their orders must have been to move on because after that, they went into the hallway that Rogan had come out of.
"Holy cra-"
One of them said before the doors slid shut. Moments later a man walked in, wearing a brown cloak. The man looked like a Jedi, thank goodness, he was saved! Rogan tried to move but he couldn't, the two troopers ran back into the room. Lord Vader. There's a Jedi ahead here. He's giving us some trouble.
"Go back"
Said the man.
"I'll deal with him."
That's all Rogan needed to hear to know who it was. Master Skywalker, he had always been nice to him, but why, why would he be doing this now? No, it couldn't be. Had master Skywalker turned to the dark side? He could recall master Yoda speaking of it, that sometimes a Jedi dose something they think is so terrible that the cannot be forgiven and that the only choice they believe, is to turn towards the dark side for guidance. The Jedi the two troopers spoke of ran into the training room. It was a young Jedi Knight that Rogan recognized at once as his older brother Ordrick. In a flash Ordrick had killed the two troopers with one throw of his light saber.
"Master Skywalker!"
The young man said. Rogan knew what was going to happen, He wanted to do something but the bodies were too heavy to push off.
"Thank god your he-"
Those were the last words Rogan herd his brother say before Vader stabbed his light saber through Ordrick's heart. Rogan woke up in a sweat.

He had that dream again. He sat up and looked around the dark blue room. Standing up, he walked over to the barrier keeping him in his cell it also acted as his only source of light. There was a reflective hologram mounted in the wall that lit up once he was near it, It show a small blue version of himself, with unkempt hair falling down past his shoulders, on his neck was a restraint collar, to keep prisoners in line. He wore tattered clothes that had never been washed and worn boots still muddy from his last assignment. A guard walked up to him.
"So Rogan how are you doing today?"
Rogan didn't answer, then the guard muttered something about if he were Baron Fron Knarks he would have kept Rogan in cryogenic stasis. He slid a tray through a small cubbyhole. The contents of the tray looked like yesterdays... he didn't even want to think about it. It was all he had to eat and he was starving. He picked up the spoon as the guard moved on. It was gone in about two seconds or at least that's what it felt like. Stretching his arms he sat in his bunk rested against the wall, looking out into the dark corridor.
"What time did you get back?"
Said a faceless voice from across the room.
"Must have been late"
Came another voice.
"Who cares.”
Replied rogan, his voice was weak and frail.
"Time doesn’t matter to me, nothing dose"
The last part he said quietly to himself.

The rest of the day went by as quiet as always, two times the guard came in and gave him grub and two times he scarfed it down. That night he had a different dream, this one was about his encounter with a woman he had met while on his previous mission. It was raining and she was wearing a cloak but he could tell she was beautiful.
“If you choose to join me you must kill your master. Either way take this”
She tossed him a light saber. It felt cold, it was mostly black with a silver tip. He remembered the feeling of his old trainer saber and turned it on without thinking. The blade glowed Red and hissed each time a drop of rain touched it.
“You’re a Sith?”
“Maybe, or maybe I just killed one, anyway someone with your abilities should at least have a light saber”
He turned it off and looked down at the saber he held in his hand.
“I’ll be seeing you soon”
Said the woman
“Who are you? And how did you-“
He looked up, but the woman was gone. He placed the saber inside his cloak and without thinking about it again continued with his mission.

Chapter 2

"After master Skywalker left, I stayed under the pile of bodies for what felt like a day, eventually a woman walked in with a group of padawans, most of them were the same age as myself. The woman's eyes fell upon the pile of bodies that were on top of me. I remember her telling the others to look away. I cried for help as best as I could, but I was too weak physically and emotionally. She started to move on but the others, they stayed. She turned around telling them to keep going, and then one of them asked her if she could feel my presence, after a short meditation she realized, I was there and helped the others who were already pulling the bodies off of me. They helped me up and we made our way out. There were a few troopers still patrolling the corridors but nothing we couldn?t handle. That night we slept in an ally, far away from the still smoking temple. We took turns looking out for the troopers, they were patrolling the city in search for any runaway Jedi. It felt like a nightmare, So many times I woke up thinking that they had found us. But for all that I had experienced, I knew that some of the others had it much worse. Hae-Jin, a fellow padawan that I had known since before I could even remember, had lost his brother and sister, who were both much older padawans. His sister the eldest of them was even up to become a Jedi Knight. There was still a chance they were alive, Hae-Jin hadn't actually seen them die, but the connection they shared told him that they were now one with the force. It was much like the connection I shared with my brother, that connection was lost now, gone forever. Olana Chion, the woman who led us out of the temple was looking after the worst of us, tending to our wounds. She was pretty, even with the dirt and her blaster scorched robes. She had short brown hair that was sleek and pulled back, and eyes that matched her hair and robes perfectly. I remember that night, she asked me how my brother died. I didn?t answer, partly because I didn't think she would believe me, partly because I didn't want to believe it myself."

Rogan woke up the next morning, to the sound of a guard banging on the panel outside his cell.
?Wake up, you?ve got a new assignment"
The guard turned off the barrier, threw Rogan his cloak, and walked away expecting him to follow. It wasn?t until the guard got to the door did he finally realize that Rogan was still in his cell.
?Lets go, you lazy swamp rat.
Rogan put on his cloak thinking it felt heaver than usual. Then he remembered about the dream and the actual occurrence. Had the guards been too stupid to see that there was a light saber in his robes, did those lizard heads even know what a light saber was or looked like? Whatever the case, it didn?t matter now, what mattered was he had a weapon. But it wasn?t the time yet to rebel, he slowly raised himself out of his bunk and put on his cloak. Walking down the dirty hallway, witch the master never saw fit to clean, he saw his other inmates,
?Busy week for you huh Rogan?? Said a Twi?lek from the cell next to his. Rogan didn?t respond, he never did.
Rogan kept walking until he was standing next to the guard. The guard placed his hand on the scanner and the door slid open, another guard was standing just outside to the left of the door. The hallway beyond was as different, from the one he was just in, as day to night, it was clean with a reflective buff from floor to ceiling. As the door slid shut behind him, the guard pushed his blaster into Rogan?s back.
?Lets move it.? Demanded the guard.
They walked down the hallway into a circular room, turned right and into an elevator, as they walked the guards kept insulting Rogan as if he weren?t even there. Rogan was getting angry, he knew better than to feel this way, but with only ten years of real Jedi training, he could never grasp the concept of controlling his anger. He Pulled out his Lightsaber, turned it on, and with a quick swing had decapitated the guard to his left. The second guard was too slow to respond and went down as quick as the first. Rogan began to panic as the double doors of the elevator slid open. This was not good, it wasn?t time yet, a nearby alarm went off and blast doors started sliding shut from the far left of the new hallway, the walls were starting to open up too, in places where there were no doors as battle droids filled the room. Rogan had seen these droids before, it was on his first mission working for the Barren, he had just completed the mission and decided that instead of going back to his master he would flee. This didn?t turn out as well as he had expected, he was able to disable his tracking collar but as soon as he had, the battle droids had already surrounded the abandoned building he was in. They were ruthless, first shooting gas canisters into the building, a mixture of different kinds, then charging in blasting him from any angle they could get a clear shot. He had to spend a month in the bacta tank to fully recover from his wounds. These droids were far more advanced than the ones he remembered from the days of the clone wars, though he had never seen one of them in person his brother had shown him a hologram of one. These droids were dark green, the Baron?s favorite color, worn from years of service they had scratch marks on their paint where you could see the original manufactured color a dark gray. They were heavily built, but that didn?t slow them down any. Each faceplate was made different, but they had the same angry expression on it. First thing to do was to destroy his collar, but the nearest droid had already sent a signal to it, immediately sending a shocking pain into his body, he knew the droids would not stop until long after he had passed out, he had to bear it and keep going. He re-ignited the light saber and quickly swung at the droid, the blade ripped through it like a knife through butter, but the pain did not stop. Rogan realized that other droids must have been sending the signal as well, he started swinging through the crowd slowly decreasing their numbers halfway through some of the droids realized that his collar restraint wasn?t strong enough and switched to blasters instead. Rogan tried his best to deflect the blasts whilst trying to destroy the nearest droid as well. Eventually he withered them down until none remained. Finally the pain had stopped, he raised the lightsaber and cut off the collar, smelling that he had also burned off some of his hair. The blaster doors were still in place, but that didn?t really matter as long as he had this light saber. He sneaked his way as best he could toward the double doors of the Baron?s office, running to more droids along the way. It wasn't as hard to destroy them now that his collar was gone.
?He must know I?m coming for him.? Rogan thought as he force pushed the doors open ripping them off their hinges. He held his light saber ready as the Baron?s guards blasted from within. One, Two, Three, with ease he deflected them back to their origin stunning the guards. This room was just as clean as the rest of the complex, except for a vase that was knocked over when one of the guards fell, but the Baron was nowhere to be seen. As expected, he must have gone into his second office. He walked up to one of the guards, anger and excitement were pulsing through his veins. With assistance from the force, Rogan lifted the guard and threw him across the room, hearing a distinctive crack, he knew the guard was dead. Kneeling down, where the guard was just a moment ago, Rogan reached under a table and flipped a switch. As he did, a hidden door to the left of the Barren?s desk slid open and three more guards ran into the office. Rogan threw his lightsaber towards the guard in the middle, it struck him in the head. He remembered the last time that had happened, he was only nine years old then. He pulled the lightsaber back using the force and sure enough this time it worked. The other two guards were too scared to move, Rogan motioned towards the opening from where he had burst in from and they quickly ran off. Stepping into the back office, he could sense the fear of his soon to be dead master.
?Rogan! how- how dare you barge into my office like this! After all I?ve done for you!" The barron was as smelly as he was ugly, He was a short fat man who compensated for his hight with three inch high boots and a ridiculously tall top hat. His brown coat barely fit him because he was so pudgy. "If you don?t remember it was I who brought you out of that Ice prison of yours in the first place! What do you think your going to do with that??
Rogan stood ready with his light saber to the Baron?s head.
?I will have you-?
With a flick of his arm Rogan had killed the man who kept him slaved underground for so many years. He put the light saber back into his cloak and sat down behind the desk. This room was much different than the rest of the complex, though it was not as dirty as the prison it was quite a mess. Bloodstains on the floor and walls reminded people the consequences of betraying the baron. If they were not killed in this room, it was more than likely that Rogan himself was the one sent to take care of them.
?I would have expected you to be more quiet about this.? Said a familiar voice.
Walking towards him was the woman from before, the woman who had offered him a new life. But this time she looked different, instead of the black cloak that covered all her features, she was now wearing a tight black sneaking suit, and her face was clearly visible. Rogan was right about her looks, her hair was light brown and it came all the way down to her shoulders. Her skin was smooth and her eyes matched her suit perfectly. He had seen this woman before, she was the Baron?s wife.
