Do you have to be evil in this game or can you play as a light side character?

I believe you only play as 1 character in a fairly scripted game, but I think you're questioning your devotion to the dark side. Kind of the opposite of Anakin becoming Vader.

I don't know how this works out within the game itself, BUT considering how Wizards of the Coast's next SW MINIs game expansion set (the 8th) has one mini labeled "Vader's Secret Apprentice, Unleashed" (from the 'Imperial' faction) and another called "Vader's Secret Apprentice, Redeemed" (from the 'Rebel' faction), I'd say this is a pretty strong indication that you indeed can (or will be at some point) either a Dark side character/player or a follower of the Light side.

i think so. but it did say it would have sort of an arena battle (ROTS game feature), so i bet you'll be able to play as a light side charecter in that, but... to bad for you if you want to play a jedi in th story.

I've heard that you are acting undercover for Vader. So while you are doing his evil bidding you actually have to pretend to be one of the good guys.

You might have to be evil as you are Vader's apprentice, but there's probably a choice in the game somewhere to be good or evil.

I think for the most part you do, but I am hoping you will be given some choices at some point and hope it will have a couple of endings.

It says on wookipedia that The Secret Apprentice wears a band through which he is controlled by Vader o__O
