I think that George Lucas didn't direct Episodes II and III, what do you think?

After wathching the three first episodes of the Star Wars saga, I came to the conclusion that Episodes II and III have a different rythm, a different look, and a different style of story telling. But The Phantom Menace looks and feels the same as the three first movies of the saga. The only way to explain this is that George Lucas did hear the bad critics The Phantom Menace recieved and decided that some other have to direct the last two movies. If that's the case, that other director had been paid a lot of money to remain anonymous. What do you think about my theory?

Mmmmmm.... not convinced about your theory.

From what I can see on all the sites relating to movies like IMDB etc Lucas is credited with the directing of the movie.

I know that there was some times where Steven Spielberg was shown stuff and asked for his opinion.

Other than that I doubt really there's any ghost directing going on there.

But you never know really...

The second film might feel different cause it was also written by Jonathan Hales, however I think George Lucas wouldnt hide if the film was directed by someone else. He didnt hide that ep V and VI were directed by someone else even if he supervised both of them, so why would he do that in this case...

Well, I'm not sure about that because on the special features it shows George Lucas doing all the directing, but the other two Do have a different "rythm" now im confused... hmmm.

Wasn't "Phantom Menace" directed by Krusty the Clown?

Or Peter Griffin?

No... it was directed by Michael Moore.

He was hoping it would open up more investors for his future projects.

Or..... maybe and I mean a big maybe.... Osama Bin Laden hasn't been in Pakistan all this time.

He directed the films and has had us all "thinking" he's still interested in bringing down the "infidels"

ughhhhhhhhhhh...........

Well that explains it...So maybe "Attack of the Clones" was really directed by Quagmire.

No, no, no. Not to rain on your parade, but i saw a documentary of George Lucas directing episode 3. Besides, even if he didn't direct them, he still wrote them.
(as a side note, i agree with Alfacr, the movies have changed a lot!)

I always thought that the movies were directed by the other guy from Wham.

Is that why Anakin always woke up before Padme go go'ed?

Most likely, but he stayed sleeping long enough for her to leave a careless whisper in his ear.

While I believe that GL directed all three prequels, Eps. II and III just feels a little different since the two of them seem more fast-paced and special FX-heavy than the Phantom Menace. I think this only because Lucas wanted to redeem himself for all the sh!tty reviews that TPM received, so he "sexed up" the following two movies just to make them look more edgier.
