A flood of emotions swept quickly through Sekhmet as she stepped out of the gloom of the tree canopy, the moonlight highlighting Burning in Blood, which she kept at the ready, never taking her eyes off this new Sentient. The relief of seeing a tousled head come running toward her, the love that swept over Sekhmet's heart as she gently reached down and ran her fingers through Nyx's hair, cupping that small face in her hand.

But, relief from worry quickly turned to anger, admiration of Nyx's courage and determination, to admonition and questions. Sekhmet had read the body language, plain it was, the love and the ever present consternation, one finds when a child takes your heart. And this woman cared deeply for Nyx. But, Sekhmet still wondered if she had taken her for herself, kidnapping was not out of the question.

Burning in Blood lay against Sekhmet's shoulder as she slipped down to face Nyx eye to eye. Taking her face in both hands, Sekhmet peered TTF deeply into Nyx's mind. She saw the truth, and gently disengaged the probe. Letting her hands fall lightly to two very tiny shoulders, Sekhmet was reminded at the fragility of this precious soul that stood before her. She sighed deeply, part of her wanted to hug her and the other knew that was not what was needed now.

"Nyx." She spoke quiet and firm and was strangely impelled to use Nyx's full name, but she just tightened her grip as Nyx continued her quick speech, as if the urgency and repeating would enforce her will on others. Sekhmet realized this was Force Persuasion in its infancy, and she smiled inwardly, but for now she must remain stern.
"The fear you feel now for Ranik?" Nyx became quite still, she realized she was in trouble, tears started to fill her eyes. "That is what your father feels by your leaving without a word to anyone." Sekhmet watched understanding unfold across Nyx's face, and taking her finger she lightly popped Nyx's nose.
"We will rescue Ranik, Little One, a promise." "Now, introduce me to your champion."
