Nyx called out "Kaalyani!" Partly to take the focus off of her predicament and partly for genuine feelings she held for this Sentient. Sekhmet rose up to her full height, but still had to tip her head back to meet the eyes of Kaalyani. Sekhmet arched an eyebrow, as she turned into a defensive position, stopping Nyx from bounding over to Kaalyani.

This was a strange looking Yuuzhon Vong, different from the others Sekhmet had seen. Her experience and exposure though had been extremely limited, and all four had been male, with three of those only carcasses. The last just before Master Lao Tzu disappeared, was the only living Yuuzhon Vong she would ever see alive, until this moment. A rebellious teen, she snuck aboard to satisfy her curiosity. Standing there staring at him, in the gloom of the hold, she was struck with the thought, of his unique beauty, in a galaxy filled with diversity. He seemed to be just as curious about her for he watched her intently and as she raised her hand to touch him, he snarled menacingly, startling her, and rousing Master Lao Tzu. Who finding her there against his express wishes made her appreciate the value of following his orders, the hard way.

Listening to her thick accent, Sekhmet's estimation of this stranger came up, and relaxing her posture, she released Nyx's hand who was tugging hard to go to Kaalyani. The diplomacy and effort this Sentient was trying to convey, belied any intimation of kidnapping, it was a quick assessment, but one that rang true in Sekhmet's gut.

'I am Master Adept Sekhmet, of the Matukai Order, Kaalyani." "It would honor me for you to just call me Sekhmet." Sekhmet began disassembling Burning in Blood and secreting it in her tunic, speaking as she worked. "Ranik was kidnapped, and we feared this also for Nyx, and until two seconds ago, I thought you might have been responsible for her disappearance."

Placing her hands on her hips as she looked up into a face partly in moonlight and partly in shadow. "Would you lay down your life for this child?" Sekhmet gestured to Nyx who was making her way to the ship and out of earshot.
