OOC: I agree with the others on the matter of JC, he should stay around if anything, because it poses as a nice opposite against Kaalyanii's character, it's going to be a relatively new experience having to work with a droid, particularly with as strong a hangups about them as the YV have. ))
It was hard not to move as suddenly as Nyx wanted her to, not when she had a weapon pointed in her general direction...and at such close proximity. However, she did not fear death, nor pain in the ways that many other sentient species of this galaxy might have. Unflinchingly, she met Sekhmet's gaze evenly, not allowing it to waver in the slightest, even as the ever-exuberant Nyx flung herself against her own legs, just as she had done the other woman's only moments before.
It was understandable, Kaalyanii thought, for the other woman to be wary of her, much more in the wake of what appeared to be a disappearance. Her presence would be unsettling, not simply because of what she was, but because it was at a time when everyone involved would be on high alert, she was a stranger, it stood to reason that she would be held in suspicion. Still, it was hard not to feel some small sliver of animosity for such actions taken against her, even though Nyx herself seemed to be at ease with her presence.
No, she wouldn't have trusted the judgement of a crecheling over her own either, so perhaps she did understand after all.
"I come on the behest of the crecheling's father," she explained, which was something of the truth, she had intended this to be just something of a social call...she had been doing a lot of soul searching recently, questioning more than just her faith and had decided that it was time she helped the Sekotan Loyalists in whatver ways she could, she had intended to speak with the governing powers in this galaxy, to the senate, asking for the citizens of Sekot to have their own voice.
What she couldn't come out with, as it was hardly an excuse, was that it was Nyx herself, who had instigated the initial plan to leave this world all together with the intention of going to find this Ranik. She still hadn't ascertained who he was, but he had seemed important to Nyx, undoubtedly so - combined with her agitated state, and the oddly flustered manner of her accompanying abomination, and you got the impression that there really was not much time. Now Sekhmet was here embelishing the fast-spoken tale that Nyx had told Kaalyanii, it gave some credence to her words.
"I know nothing of this Ranik other than what Nyx has told me." she added placatingly, dark eyes sliding sidelong towards the weapon flanking her neck ominously, then returned it back to the weapons' wielder.
"Nor am I armed." - in retrospect, this would not have been much of a reassurance at all, she surmised, since those Yuuzhan Vong who had not been shamed at some point in their life, could secrete weapons in as many body parts as one could think of, weather or not they were actually born with them. What scant implants Kaalyanii had left from her warrior days, were almost completeley destroyed, rotted or had failed spectacularly, one need only look at her to see as much.
"I only wish to aid her."
Somewhere at her back, she heard the irritatingly tinny voice of Nyx's protection droid, fussing over the details of what was being discussed. Noticably, Kaalyanii let a shiver of distaste slide up her spine with electric prescision, she had hoped it would keep it's distance.
