With the demise of the KoA, the Reconstructed Galactic Empire took over the worlds of the KoA and the remaining areas of the galaxy ((minus the Unknown Regions, of course)). At that time, Empress Athena promised the creation of the Imperial Senate to gather all beings from all worlds to present their collective problems and opinions in one forum. There, the Empress would hear the pleas of the people, and with the Imperial Senate, decide on the best course of action.
Today, the Imperial Galactic Senate has been reestablished. The RGE Imperial Galactic Senate committee is still in the process of determining how many senators and from which planets/sectors are needed, but all--even those who do not agree with the Empire's stance ((i.e. in the vein of Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Leia Organa))--are encouraged to petition the committee for a senatorial position.
This place is to be used to present complaints, questions, and propositions to the Empress and the Senate, to be voted upon once a week. Furthermore, a list of senators and senatorships will be posted as soon as there are interested parties.

Thank you, devoted citizens of the Empire. In light of Stymie's request, I would like to amend previous statements about senators representing only planets/sectors. I would like to loosen this restriction. All peoples without a homeworld are welcome to join the Senate ((such as the Mando's and the GJO??)).

OOC: Well, Stymie, that is a good question. Initially, I was going to have a combination, i.e. the person in charge of the planet also represented the sector (which greatly cuts down on the number of senators, which could be thousands). However, I am sure some serious overlap has occurred. In any case, all planet suggestions welcome and we get the Senate to vote on it, when you represent the planet (i.e. Obroa-Skai) you represent the system/sector it is in.

Traditionally, Senators were beings who represented their planet, system, and/or sector. However you are correct with the overlap if we decide to have them control their sector or system as well. If we are going to have this Galactic Senate, it needs to be done right. This is for the people of the galaxy, who may not want one person representing them because that person represents the System their planet is in. Every individual planet needs a voice.
