Carratos was a planet in the Inner Rim Territories, roughly 40 parsecs from Coruscant. Heavily urbanized, Carratos was a planet chosen by the Fallanassi to be a place of refuge for some of their youngest initiates while they were being persecuted on Lucazec. Akanah was sent to a school in the Chofin settlement. Around this time, Carratos was subjugated by the Galactic Empire around 10 BBY. The Empire established a heavy garrison and trapped its residents with high taxes for departure. When the Empire collapsed and the garrison withdrew, Carratos spiraled into crime and became home to many pirates.

Over the passing years, Carratos was ravaged by scum so blatant in their intentions that they would commit even the most heinous acts in the middle of the street. Controlled by “Black Sun”, Carratos’ urban streets allowed for all sorts to converge in dark places. It was there that most of the respectable lived in hiding, fearing the pirates and scum that choked the planet. Those were Carratos’ dark days, and then a man with a certain kind of darkness about him came home.
Known as Ire, this man took control of the Carratos government which was nothing more than a band of Pirates and Outlaws that pretended to be the criminal organization Black Sun. Ire told the Pirate lord what was to be expected of all of them, leave this planet now or suffer. The lead Pirate thought better to attack with a rusty vibro-saber and lost. It didn’t take Ire long after that to finish off the rest of them. Ire landed his troops and secured the planet and instituted a new government on Carratos, an Imperial government, one that which subsequently ordered the executions of all known Pirates and Outlaws.
Now that Carratos has been chosen to be the Imperial Throne world, its defensive network has been brought up to a higher standard as of recently. Around 500 space defense platforms orbit Carratos, like those once seen in orbit of Derilyn but retrofitted with the latest in advanced technology. These stations construct one of the layers in the planet’s defensive network. These platforms have two saucer-shaped sections connected by a thick central fuselage and measured 4,225 meters in length. Their armaments include 80 turbolaser and 40 double laser cannons along with the ability to house six squadrons worth of Chiss Clawcraft starfighters each. It could hold enough supplies to run for five years.
Several massive planetary shield generator stations are located on the planet surface, and can utilize both encasing and shutter shield systems. Planetary Ion cannons also aid in the defense of the planet. There are orbital customs stations like the ones around Bastion that act as waypoints for all ships entering and exiting the system along with several long range observation/comscan stations overhead as well. Not many can sneak their way through to the planet without being seen over a light-year away. Along with the Defensive/Reserve Fleet stationed at Carratos, The planet itself categorizes as an Imperial Space Fortress thanks to its many layers of protection.

Chofin, the largest city on the planet of Carratos, serves as the location for the Imperial Palace. Centered deep inside the urban landscape, the Imperial Palace stands as a symbol of Imperial might and resolve. Form the outside, the Imperial Palace looks like a mix of a cathedral and a monument, and bares strong Sith architecture. At a total height of 3.5 kilometers, it is the tallest building on Carratos.

The Palace is made of polished gray-blue rock and mirrored crystals with three large banners flying the Imperial crest of the RGE. Even at night, the Palace never grew dark since blazing illumination from phosphorescent panels, glowspheres, and electroluminescence strips kept the structure in a shower of blazing light. The Palace Gardens were located on the grounds at the rear of the Palace.
Inside the Palace, Ch'hala trees line the main concourse and can be found throughout the palace. These trees, which continuously change color at sound vibrations, are part of a spy system used by the Empress and Executor to keep an eye on their guests. The Palace contains over fifteen thousand rooms and chambers in fifty connected structures. The people who work there are expected to have a comlink at all times, because of the easiness to get lost.
The Imperial Palace has its own Senate Chamber connected via an underground tunnel system. It has six hundred, six-person repulsorlift booth-pods outlined in crimson upholstery and painted black. All of the residential floors of the Palace contain extensive libraries, there is a private library rumored to house a great deal of holocrons and scrolls but no one has ever located it. Guests are housed within the Guest floor of the Palace, rooms so elaborate in their decoration any dignitary or Princess that may wish to stay the night may wish to never leave. Beneath the structure of the Palace are a series of chambers that hold the Imperial Information Center. There is also a facility used to train for personal combat.
Imperial Knights and stormtoopers walk the grounds with surveillance droids and monitoring devices throughout the grounds. All secure or restricted areas are clearly marked and are equipped with model Dz5 Security doors. Over 100 turbolaser and 80 ion cannon batteries dot the surfaces of the Palace’s four sentry towers, while pin-point defense barriers and solar ionization cannons surround and protect the main building.
The main security system of the Palace uses a Personal Area Network (which includes DNA, voice and retinal checks for certain areas) that tracks the heat profiles of everyone inside the temple. If any unauthorized persons enter without being fitted for the PAN field that monitors the Palace, guards are automatically released, the Palace put on high alert and locked down with standing orders that all intruders are shot on site.

((Nyk, you are at a customs station in orbit. You aren't even close to the planet let alone near the temple.))
As Executor Maj-Han sits in his office, the audio transmission from Admiral Xerxes comes through. He leans in and activates the com-unit. "Three fleets and a ground force?" Garik says with surprise lacing his words.
"My, you move quickly. I need details; who is involved, your strategy, figures for losses. Shadow fleet might make an appearance if it is necessary, but something from my last fight that it with the Vong tells me that they will retreat. I know Vong are not known for self preservation habits, but there was something weired about that Vong fleet jumping away..."
Realizing he is being drawn in by other thoughts, Garik clears his throat and begins to speak again. "Gather your information Admiral and we will speak then."
As the com-line dies, Garik thinks about the events on the horizion, the carnage and destruction that is about to engulf the galaxy and all he can think about is keeping Lorana and LirTan safe. He looks out the window of his office to see the to see the lines of speeder traffic flying by. He waits to see what Admiral Dooku will have for the figures on this engagement.

*After working on Senate stuff, Lorana decides to walk around the huge palace to get a feel of what is around. Going through each floor of the palace, Lorana notices each library door but it wasn't until she was at the top floor she decided to check it out. The library was covered with books and many delicate wood tables in the middle.
The librarian and the staff turn to Lorana and bows as she walks in. Stil getting used to being greeted, Lorana nods and smiles at them as she walks through, looking at all the books.
Lorana finds one that catches her eye and pulls it down. She walks over to the window and sits down and starts reading.*

Garik sits at his office working on tasking orders for the whole Empire. He decides diplomatic missions might be better to gain the heart of the Empire back, not to mention with the move against the Vong about to be made it should boost morale. He orders his fleet into reserve mode in case the battle goes awry. He then feels Lorana's presence not far away. Putting down the datapads, Garik thinks briefly and appears in a Library. He turns to look for Lorana and sees her sitting by a massive window, that looks out upon the Chofin Settlemen, reading a book.
"Good book my Empress?" he asks with a smile.

"Good, Admiral Dooku has his task force ready and I amthinking about sending our Senators on diplomatic missions to see about regaining the worlds of the Empire through the right channels."

*Starts laughing and shakes her head* Please! As if I would ever be caught in such situation. My speciality is being surrounded by dozens of pirates, guards, and any other people wielding guns and swords. That's my kind of fighting.

"That you can be sure of," Garik says with a smile as he lifts Lorana's hand and kisses it. "my Empress."
He looks at Lorana a thinks about the tought road ahead, he knows that the Vong conflict will be bloody and that it might mean the destruction of so much but all he can think about is keeping her safe. "I told you I would keep you safe, and safe is where I will keep you. No one will dare oppose the Empire when the Vong are beaten and then maybe the needs of such extravagant defenses will no longer be needed"

I know you will but remember we also have to keep LT safe too. If it comes down to it, between OUR son and me, I want you to protect him. Promise me that before this Vong situation gets out of hand because I have a strong feeling it will come down to that.
