Re:Jedi and YV meeting on the planet Hoth

OOC: Apparently there is a simple yet somewhat extensive ecosystem on Hoth. Much more so than I had even thought.

Buried deep in Hoth's equatorial region was a fissure, reaching hundreds of meters towards the core of the planet. In this area never exposed to Hoth's blue-white sun was a cache of lumni-spice, a rare fungal growth.

Several sources mention tundras on Hoth, however one has never been depicted. Most depictions are of icy plains with no vegetation whatsoever. Tundras have many varieties of low vegetation such as grasses.

The frigid biosphere included a minimal food chain: the predator wampas, the omnivorous tauntauns, the herbivorous Hoth hogs, a few rodent species, including snowmice and ice scrabblers, and iceworms, Dragon Slugs, and lichens (Fields of lichens grew in Hoth's vast cave grottoes, providing an important source of food for wild tauntauns. These animals also sometimes found lichens on exposed outcroppings on the surface and just below the frost layer.)

There was also a sentient species I had never heard of, skels. Here's a link.

I do have a question. The Yuuzhan Vong lichen, would they appear much the same as the native lichen, or would it be there be a visible difference, or a force signature difference? I was going to assume that they appeared the same and are undetectable, but saw where the Yuuzhan Vong had glow lichen, which provided light for them.
