You have walked through a pair of high, iron wood doors and entered a beautiful garden. In the center is a wide expanse of brick pavers closely interlocked. Small lines of bright green moss grow between some of the bricks which run from grayish brown to a deep sienna. All around the perimeter are flowers both common and rare from every corner of the galaxy. Behind them is a high hedge of various shrubs who’s foliage runs from deep purple to pale yellow depending on their planet of origin and behind the hedge is a high wall leading up to the ceiling. The garden is buried deep within the temple and has no outside access.
Sitting on the wide expanse of pavers are rows upon rows of chairs designed to accommodate the needs of many species. There are also spaces for those who would not ordinarily sit.
At the front of the sitting area is a raised platform with several potted flowering plants and additional rare vases overflowing with flowers. There is a small array of chairs on this platform for the Master conferring rank, the Grand Master as well as the graduating Padawan. There is a small column of rare blue opal marble near the front of the platform. Next to that column which is for placing small items there is a control unit for the lighting, audio and temperature. Behind it, suspended on a transpasteel frame is the Jedi Order emblem for all to see.

Here you will witness and possibly participate in the Knighting ceremony of a Jedi. Here too, Masters will be awarded their rank as such.

The Ceremony:
Each Master has the choice of using his or her own words for the Knighting ceremony but the ceremony itself should remain basically the same from Knight to Knight. A similar ceremony can be used for those Knights graduating to the level of Master though that ceremony should be performed by the Grand Master or the next available ranked Master down should the Grand Master not be available.
The Master knighting the new Knight should enter first and prepare the garden for the coming guests. This should include but is not limited to dimming the lights in the garden for effect with the exception of the stage area, checking to make sure all intended items are in place and making sure there is the proper amount of seating available.
This is a most solemn ceremony and should be treated seriously by all attending. The Master should be wearing their best robes and so should those in attendance.
Once everyone comes in the Master should invite everyone to sit and their Padawan to join him/her on the stage. The Padawan should come up the center isle and bow to their Master and those ranking Masters in attendance.
An example of the words chosen for the ceremony is as exampled below:
"Welcome everyone. We have gathered this evening to celebrate the most solemn event in a Jedi's life."
“(Padawan’s name here), the path chosen for a Jedi is not an easy one. It is a path filled with sacrifice and little adulation.
You are asked to put the needs and lives of others before your own. It also requires intense training. none of the tasks undertaken by a Jedi are easy.
You have taken up the mantel of wanting to become a Jedi. You have worked hard, you have studied hard, and you have proved yourself time and again. You understand what it takes to become a Jedi.
I now take this opportunity to congratulate you, to tell you how very proud I am of you. You do your family's name, and this Order honor with your actions.
So now Padawan (Padawan’s name here), please kneel... and prepare yourself for the next step in your journey as a Jedi."
The master should smile down at their soon to be former padawan and think about those things their student has achieved which made them proud and the ancient symbolism of the actions they are about to perform. At this point, the master should then use the force to raise their Padawan’s braid (if they have one) and ignite their saber to cut it off with a flourish, or make a similar gesture if the padawan has no braid.
If the padawan had a braid, the Master should catch it in the Force, put their saber back on their hip, and present it to their padawan.
The Master should give a closing speech similar to the following:
(Padawan’s name here), You are no longer a Padawan. Your title in this Order is now Knight. With all the privileges and responsibilities inherent there within."
(hold their) hand for a moment. "Congratulations, my ‘former’ student."
At this point the Master should bow to the new Knight to honor the transition from student to equal.
The former Padwan should thank their Master and those attending in a formal manner at this point in the ceremony, bow to them, and make any speech of their choosing if they desire to do so.
Any presentation of gifts should now be done at this time. It is tradition but not required of a newly minted Knight to give their former Master their Padawan braid for safe keeping. This honor is also appropriately conferred on a family member or spouse.
The ceremony ends at this point and the celebration either in the garden itself or at another location of the Knight’s choosing shall begin.

She smiles at her new padawan. "Go ahead and have a seat anywhere you like Tookie." She looks at Cait and Luke. "No glitches as far as I can tell, everything should work just fine."
She kicks the stand lightly when the lights flicker on it.

Soto voco to Tookie "I don't think anyone will notice. They are all paying attention to Crystal and no one noticed I have axle grease on my hands yet."
She grins and leads the gunguan to a seat near the outside edge of the chairs so she can look at the flowers if the ceremony gets boring.
