Beskar is also known as Mandalorian Iron and is a mineral found only on the planet Mandalore. Before the reign of the Empire, the Mandalorians used this mineral to make their traditional armor, beskar'gam like that which Boba Fett uses. The Mandalorians quickly became well known for their armor, which could even resist the attacks of a lightsaber.
