Set during the peak of the Clone Wars, this novel revolves around Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kit Fisto as ambassadors on the planet of Ord Cestus, which has started manufacturing JK "Jedi Killer" droids. As Obi-Wan takes a peaceful approach to the problem, Kit Fisto takes a group of ARCs to start training rebels in case the negotiations fail.
