Expanded Universe
Watto added the bell-shaped top to his shop's dome in homage to his native Toydaria. The apex forms a comfortable perch not unlike the muck nest of his home planet.

Behind the Scenes
The interior of Watto 's hut was filmed on a sound stage in Leavesden, England. The rough draft of the script describes the interior as a "dirty mess," infested with thousands of "fly-like creatures.
