Tuskers Tuskers's Profile »

Missing, three days

Tuskers, Missing
--*--

Tuskers frowns. Looking over the control panel on the Whitestar, he cannot seem to breath any life into the instruments.
"Traveling though hyperspace would be a lot easier, if my ship actually worked."

He pulls up the control panel, and starts working though the circuits. "What the frack?"
The smell of scorched wiring is overpowering, and Tuskers backs off to let the air clear. He stops by the engineering panel and double checks that the life support systems are functioning. While he's happy to see that the numbers are good, concern paints his face as he realizes that there is something seriously wrong with his ship.

"Communications are dead. Life Support okay. I may have enough power to keep me alive for a week, but I'd rather not sit out here alone that long."

Looking out the viewport, Tuskers can see nothing nearby. "I miss you Meli. Where are you?"

Tuskers doesn't expect to see his Sekotan Skiff appear suddenly. Not now, and certainly not anytime soon. "In the middle of nowhere, with nothing to do. And even my droids are not here. Why did I ever get underway without my trusty Astromechs, and my beautiful red protocol droid?"

Shaking his head, Tuskers walks into the main area of the ship. "I think those
fumes are getting to me. I just called Red beautiful."

He sits at the technical station, and starts punching buttons.
"I've got a bad feeling about this." Nothing is happening as he is hitting buttons.

Tuskers heads into a maintenance crawlway, and starts checking circuits.
After an hour or so, he comes out of the crawlway, and sighs.

"I guess I'm going to be out of the loop for quite some time. I may be here a while, I'd better check my food supplies."

Missing Day Two

Tuskers comes out of the cargo holds of his YT-1930, the Whitestar. He won't be starving, even though the ships control systems are pretty much fried.
Running the Starlight Beach Club means that there is usually something good to eat in the cargo hold. In this case, enough provisions to feed himself for weeks.

Certainly long enough to figure out if repairs are possible.

Repairs? Tuskers spent a little time resting, and doing some meditations in the Force to see if he could reach anyone. Now he's getting back to the business of ripping apart every conduit on the ship, to see if there is something that can be done to fix his beautiful ship.

Tearing open each panel from the co*kpit all the way back to the engines takes
a lot of time. Tuskers sets an alarm, to remind him to stop and eat. Then, he decides that he cannot work straight through the night. Perhaps some meditations, then sleep... This work, without his droids, is going to take forever, unless the problem is quickly stumbled upon.

Tuskers sits down with his hands on the wiring, and tries to reach out through the Force. There are disruptions, but the Force isn't telling him where.

He tries a new tactic, and goes to the power systems. Checking everything on this end, he then activates a few panels. The power just doesn't seem to flow from the breaker box to the appropriate circuits.

Tuskers begins to pull panels away from the wiring after the main circuit box.
A few hours into this, his alarm goes off. Time to eat, this will wait.

Gathering the fixings for Nachos, Tuskers discovers that the oven isn't working either. Fierfek!

But this is time to eat, so he eats, skipping the ingredients that really need to be heated.

After eating, Tuskers sits on the floor, and reaches out with the Force.

First, feeling the ship around him, then trying to reach further.
His studies of Telepathy indicate that you can only talk over a few kilometers unless you are really close to the individual. But something is stopping him from reaching his Sekotan Skiff Meli. He should be able to call her.

Tuskers tries to reach out to several other people, but the distance seems to
be too great. Maybe if someone were meditating?

He does finally manage to reach an old friend. He catches his Genin, Aeron, who is in the Grey training room studying the Force.
He now knows the Grey are looking for him, but no one, including himself, knows where he is.

Missing, Day Three
Tuskers flops into the Technical Station chair.

Sabotage. He's found the remains of a small buzz droid that someone let loose on the Whitestar. There are damaged sections of conduit that may take weeks to repair. Weeks that he doesn't have. The life support system won't last that long.
Tuskers turns back the support systems a little bit, it's a bit colder, but he'll survive another day or so. The air fresheners don't use much more power on full, so he's leaving them on. He'll need the air to concentrate on his work. A Jedi can only use the Force Breath for so long...

Of course, life would be easier if he could find some extra socks. His beach sandals are not very warm, and his usual shoes are uncomfortable without socks, but they are warmer than the sandals.

Today's first order of business is exercise. Pull ups on the ladder leading up to the gun turret. Running around back and forth, even some Lightsaber practice.
After a couple hours of this, Tuskers feels much better from all the cramped work yesterday. Of course, there is much more to try to do. Bypassing circuits to try and get either the comm system or the control systems online.

He starts rummaging through spare parts to see which course of action seems more prudent.

*Bang*
Running again, this time to the co*kpit. He can't see anything, but the ship must have drifted into something. He climbs down to the lower turret for a look around.
Fierfek!

The Whitestar has drifted into an asteroid field.
Tuskers hurries up the ladder, and starts scanning through his star-charts. Could it be? I hope it is... With the instruments dead, he can't confirm it, but this is a good clue.

Reaching out through the Force... Where the Frakk is Meli?

Tuskers reaches out for others he knows, but the distance is so great. He was able to find only one person yesterday. He'll keep trying...

Another loud thud hits the ship.
"I've got a bad feeling about this."

Tuskers continues to look out the turret window, and forms a plan.
Calling upon the Force, he pulls in several asteroids, and gently pulls them along the hull of the ship.

It takes time, but the concentration of moving the large debris isn?t straining.
Eventually, the Whitestar is surrounded by rocks on all sides, protecting it from further impact.

There is no way to secure the asteroids in place, so Tuskers knows he'll have to continue to check the defensive screen through the Force. But at least it?s one worry that he can cross off his mind.

After all of this, he wonders if he should have just tried to direct his ship in the other direction?

After all this excitement, Tuskers looks at the star charts, and sees that he's almost certainly at Alderaan.

He starts to reach out through the Force, and again connects with his old friend Aeron. She takes off for the Alderaan system to attempt a rescue.

Tuskers anticipates being back at the beach club soon.

If you want to survive out here, you've got to know where your towel is.

Embrace the moment. In the end, that's all we have.
Trouble will come in its own time, it always does.
But that's tomorrow.
Give me today, and I will be happy.
