Beskar'gam

Alright everyone, I've sot of got a bone to pick. I've been away with RL and GW, and haven't gotten on here much. After I did get back on, I'm amazed at all of the people who use, *or claim to use*, Beskar'gam (Mando'a for Mandalorian Armor). Let me give y'all a little history lesson.

The Mandalorians were a people who descended from the Taungs. Taungs were the name for the species that initially inhabited the planet of Coruscant. They were driven from Coruscant by the Zhell. The Taungs then established themselves on Roon and were unified under Mand'alor the First, and later conquered a nearby planet which they named Manda'yaim in honor of their leader, or Mandalore in basic.

Mandalorian Iron was a mineral found on the planet Manda'yaim. The iron was called beskar in Mando'a, and was one of the strongest Metals in the galaxy. Beskar, which is only found on Manda'yaim, is so durable that it can resist the blows from a lightsaber. It is even canon to say that Mandalorian Iron had the ability to hold back spirits of the dead (*), as seen by its ability to encase Freedon Nadd's spirit after his death.

During the reign of the Empire, it was believed that all the Mandalorian Iron had been stripped from the planet, but another rich vein was found in 40ABY. With this said, Beskar was expensive stuff if you were off planet, and even on planet many Mandalorians did not wear beskar'gam.

Take Boba Fett for example. Boba Fett is the iconic Mandalorian that everyone acknowledges and relates to. However, Boba Fett wore what appeared to be Beskar'gam (Mandalorian Armor) but it was NOT made out of Beskar (**). This armor was infact made of duraplast, a strong yet unrelated material.

And why and I writing this? What is the bone I'm picking? I'm just curious as to how so many people now have beskar'gam. Jedi, Sith, Non-Mandalorians, it's just becoming quite ridiculous. Say I'm over reacting, say I'm being nuts, but it seems to me like people think you can just go out and buy Beskar'gam from some pawn shop on Coruscant! The ability to create real Beskar'gam was only known by Mandalorians, and very, very few non-Mandalorians. The Empire even tried its own hand at creating beskar'gam with the beskar they took from the Mandalorians, and their armor was pretty much useless because they couldn't forge it in the proper way.

I'm merely saying that for those aruteiise (foreigners) who wish to RP with Beskar'gam, if I even RP you then you'd better have a good reason for how you got the armor (i.e. married to a Mandalorian, are Mandalorian, or are very good friends with a Mandalorian).

Ret' vode!

*EDIT* - Moreover, I'm quite annoyed with the people all over the site who are saying they are Mandalorian yet they don't act like it. They don't fellowship with their vode. Everyone seems to have a Mandalorian father who died, or a Mandalorian mother who was kidnapped into slavery. If you guys are really Mandalorian, then why don't you leave the NJO/GSE and join the UCOM?!?!?!?

There are certain few who I am ok with, just because they actually asked the UCOM if they could do this, and in fact they seem to interact with the UCOM on a regular basis.
