Ashiro

From the personal journal of Ashiro T'Vastion:

It's been three years since I left the Jedi Order. Three years since they sent me to Hooruk Sal. Three years since I assassinated a Jedi Master in a vain attempt to "protect the assets and integrity of the Republic". Lies. It was all lies. The master I killed knew the truth. He spoke the truth to me about how the Jedi were to blame for the civil war on Hooruk Sal and how the Jedi were being used by unseen forces within the Republic to defend the interests of the Trade Federation. He was the only one who questioned why they needed the weapons grade metals found on that planet. He was the one who questioned why the Jedi Council was having trouble seeing the possible futures ahead. He was the one who felt the growing shadow of the Darkside. And I killed him.

I killed a master and in return they were going to promote me to master. I stood in the circle of the Jedi Council Chambers and gave voice to questions asked by a dead master. I received silence. They were more concerned that I learned how to mask my prescence in the Force while on my mission then they were about the warnings of the return of the Sith.

Now three years later, the Council still sits in a circle of ignorance. Another great Jedi is dead along with countless citizens of the planet Naboo. Naboo, where the new droid army of the Trade Federation made its debut. An army that the council should have known about. One I personally warned them to be on the watch for. Now we know what they needed the metal for from Hooruk Sal. How can a Council of such inteligent beings....such powerful Jedi......be so blind?

I was right to leave the Order. For too long they have sat and tended to minor disputes.....busied themselves with their own buracracy. I don't think they are perpared for what I fear is to come. Master Kenobi killed a Sith on Naboo. Where there is one...there is another. Master or apprentice it makes no difference. Sith is Sith and the Jedi are not prepared.

I cannot serve the Order and I cannot serve the Republic. The Order is stagnant and the Republic is corrupt. The people deserve better from both. I alone cannot make a difference. But maybe I can. If the Sith can survive for centuries..no..not survive....prepare.....then so can I. I will go where the Force takes me and learn all I can. There are teachings about the Force throughout the galaxy...shamans....legends....historians....and maybe even holocrons. I must learn it all. All I can.

I will be ready.
