Tal Thren
“Yeah, that's me. Tal Thren. But just because my name starts with 'blood,' doesn't mean I'm a pirate. I'm a Mando'ad Verd, and I'd thank you to remember that.”
Tal Thren: Clone Wars Journal: Part Two
Delstar was a remote planet. It wasn't known for anything special, except for it's huge waterfalls. Galactic tourists would come and view the waterfalls. That was before the Clone Wars.
Now, the planet was populated by the CIS. For them, the waterfalls were more than an amazing vacation view. The seps found them a source of power. They had decided to move in and make a droid factory right there on Delstar.
The seps had blasted into the largest mountain, destroying miles of jungle in the process. Apparently, the Republic had considered it a big enough threat to send in a regiment.
My V-wing came out of Hyperspace at 0900 Delstar time. I looked over the data as my ship auto-piloted itself down to the surface.
According to the data, the only way into the factory was a well guearded valley pass. It was guarded by an unknown amount of enemy soldiers-too many to count-tanks, and and turbolaser emplacments. It was also protected against air-to-ground attacks.
The commanding Jedi General, one Erid Tharr had sent Chaos Squad in to neutralize the anti-air weaponry and defenses, so then bombers could get in and destroy the ground masses.
In the message from Chaos Squad, they had said that they didn't think the second-in-command trustworthy. He was not a clone, or even a Jedi. He only cared about getting glory. They were worried because General Tharr was leaving for a short period of time, and they thought the second-in-command was going to order a premature attack, in order to impress the Chancellor. The man was a di'kut.
So now I was meeting up with Chaos Squad. Meaning I had to fly down to the planet, leave my V-wing, and walk one hundred kilometers of pure rock plain until I got to a cliff. Then I would have to climb down three hundred meters until I reached a river. Walk down river for about half a day, then go I would reach a cave. Inside that cave, about a kilometer back, was Chaos Squad.
"Unidentified V-wing, Please transmit the proper codes or you will be fired upon."
I swung my V-wing around, and, sure enough, an Acclamator-class Assault Ship was orbiting Delstar. I opened up the comm channel.
"Spearhead," I said, glancing at the ship's sensor tag, "this is V-wing Tee-En-Four-Three. I'm on special assignment. Transmitting authorization codes and my orders now."
After two minutes, the Spearhead replied. "Very well, Tee-En-Four-Three. You may head down."
"V-wing, out"
I adjusted the V-wing's course, and headed into the atmosphere of Delstar. Help was on the way.
