Collecting on....
So this week was another good week for collecting, picked up the new Order 66 packs as well as a few VOTC figures from around the retail stores.
Also waiting on quite a few ebay purchases to come from the USA,so will be nice when they arrive.
On the collecting forums someone posed the question about accumulating or collecting, asking if it can be sometimes hard to know which one you are doing.
Obviously the emotional reaction is most always going to justify what is "collected" but of course do we ever stop to make sure we are not just being slaves to consumerism.
Whilst I do enjoy immensely the collecting of Star Wars toys and some other items,I try to remind myself occasionally that this is a business venture for someone else out there and in the case of Star Wars it's a very big business (Star Wars licensing has to date brought in approx $20 billion USD since it's beginning).
It's ok if you enjoy the items you pick up and get a lot of use of them in whatever way that works for you but just remember that marketing plays on our feelings/emotions a lot and is done so to make $$$.
Till next time, take care and happy collecting!!!
