“But in their hearts they never forgot the Jedi. The hatred for the Jedi Order burns in their veins like fire, and it echoes in their teachings.”

Dark Love

Darth Reaver, Dark Lord of the Sith, walked into his apprentice's bedroom on the Creeping Death. Darth Bloodrain was asleep, her brown and blonde strands covering a small part of her face. Sitting down next to her, he pushed them back with a gentle motion and stayed there, his hand in her hair, his gaze upon her, as his thoughts strayed.

He could still remember the day he met her. He was on Kalinda for a mission and he stumbled upon her as he was searching for a cantina. A 15-year-old girl, orphaned, but with much will to live and learn. And avenge. Her parents were bounty hunters, killed by some Jedi, and from that day she held a great hatred towards them. She was smart, fearless and relentless, though sometimes with a flicker of sympathy for others. He was only 17 at that time, but was amazed at how strong she was with the Force. With the proper training, she could become a good Force user.

He had presented her to his master shortly after their encounter, but he had refused to break the Rule of Two. So Reaver took it upon himself and started training the girl in secret, first instructing her to the use of the lightsaber, then, gradually, to Force powers as she was becoming more and more capable. She was particularly good at using the Force lightning, and her dream was to be able to use Force travel. After realizing she had a certain fondness of black and red, as he did, Reaver was the one who gave her the name Bloodrain, making her cast away her old self.

Five years passed this way, and Reaver felt he could no longer carry this on in secrecy. Besides, his master had started to suspect something was going on behind his back. The youngest Sith was able to hide and control his feelings and his thoughts, but not for long. And he had already learned what there was to learn from him. There was nothing more the Sith Master could teach him. So, before his feelings could betray him, he sneaked into his master's bedroom and stabbed him in his sleep. Without remorse or regrets.

Now that he was officially the master, Bloodrain became his apprentice and a Dark Lady of the Sith. And his lover. There was not just plain passion in this. They had loved each other very much after five years of training. Reaver adored her gentle, and at the same time proud, confident and merciless eyes, and she loved him more than a schoolgirl falling for her wise teacher. Bloodrain was swearing she would never betray him, whatever the Jedi said about the ways of the Sith. Even if he was sure she would kill him one day so as to be the master herself, she claimed she could never imagine her life without him.

Reaver smiled as his fingers ran through her smooth hair. He could remember even their first kiss. It was some days before he killed his master. He had engaged Bloodrain in a double-bladed lightsaber combat, just to show her the moves. During a moment when he sensed anger and hesitation in her, he had pinned her to the wall, his saber blocking hers. They had stayed there, breathing deeply, staring into each other's eyes for more time than they could bear in mind. Their weapons fell to the floor when he stooped and caught her lips with his. He shuddered as he remembered the silky feel of her lips, the scent of her hair and the touch of her arms around him.

This was the time he confessed he loved her. But she had thought it was a joke, or a misunderstanding of emotions. She had been taught that unconditional love cannot happen to a Sith, that only passion can live inside one. But he swore to her that he loved her more than anything in the galaxy, that he could even turn to the light if she told him to. This was the truth, no matter how Bloodrain refused to accept it. No, she had never refused his love. She just wasn't able to realize the impact she had on him, both mentally and physically. When they were alone, he always called her "my Queen", while in public, they clung to the typical "my Lord-my Lady".

His thoughts strayed to the first battle they had fought side by side. Their lightsabers were cutting down several Republic soldiers in unison, without delaying. A violent passion had possessed them both; Reaver saw his apprentice's eyes turn yellow for the very first time, and felt desire kindle in his heart. He couldn't wait for the battle to be over to satisfy that desire. He had sensed the same yearning in her as she was fighting by his side, slashing down most soldiers who approached them and blocking blaster fire with her black blade.

When two Jedi came closer, maybe a little too reckless, they fought them and knocked them out in a few minutes. He had dealt with the master and Bloodrain with the apprentice. The duel was furious and difficult. After Reaver had killed the Jedi Master, the Padawan became enraged and managed to wound Bloodrain on the right shoulder. She didn't lose spirit, however, and impaled the Padawan with her saber before she fell unconscious to the ground. Reaver lifted her in his arms and carried her away from the battlefield, leaving his troops handle it.

It was the first time he used a light side Force power to heal her wounds. He realized he couldn't let her die; he couldn't live without her. Even when he heard the battle was lost, he didn't really care. All he cared about was Bloodrain. It didn't mind how much he had learned to hate the Jedi; he could let them be, though, for the sake of his apprentice. No, he wasn't a coward. And certainly neither was she. He just loved her and wanted no harm to come to her, no matter what the cost. When she awakened, he had embraced her and kissed her relieved. And that night, they satisfied their desire and hunger for each other.

The trail of his thoughts was cut off as Bloodrain stirred in her sleep and opened her eyes. She looked up at him and her shaped lips were drawn to a smile. Every time she smiled, her face seemed different at Reaver's eyes. More womanly, even more beautiful than it already was.

"Good evening, my Queen", he whispered lovingly and took gently her sweet lips. She responded to the kiss and dragged him in her bed, under the coverlets. Their bodies became one as they succumbed to the passion that feeds all Sith, yet with much tenderness and deep love.
