Welcome to the Best Collection Awards for July 2008, our fourth competition! Entries and winners of previous competitions can be seen by clicking on the "History" link at the top of this post.

We believe that it is time to retire the monthly "Best Overall Collection" award, and to make that category an annual title. So this time, five awards will be given out. Four of those awards will be decided by our secret panel of knowledgeable judges. The winner of the remaining award will be decided by the public - the comments and ratings of the entry pictures in that category will determine the winner. To accommodate this, the rules have changed to allow entrants to solicit interest in their entries (see below under How To Enter).

1. BEST NON-WORKING CLONE

Maximum number of pictures allowed: 1 picture
Picture titles must begin with "BCA4-1"

For the best Clone in a "non-working" situation. Let us face it, we all need a day off, and so do Clone Troopers. Maybe they are at the beach playing a little volleyball, or doing a little shopping, perhaps hanging out with their Clone Kids. This is the "Clones' Day Off Picture" category.

2. GRAND CLONE ARMY

Maximum number of pictures allowed: 4 pictures
Picture titles must begin with "BCA4-2"

A category for all your Clone Trooper figures, ships and vehicles. Create your Grand Army of the Republic and assemble them (perhaps in deployment formation, or battle formation, or no formation at all!) All ships and vehicles shown should be ones known to be used by Clone Troopers.

3. YOUR FATE IS SEALED

Maximum number of pictures allowed: 4 pictures
Picture titles must begin with "BCA4-3"

Are you unwilling to open your figure packs to assemble a Grand Clone Army? Then this category is for you! We are looking for the most impressive collection of still-packaged Clone Trooper figures - so long as at least one Clone Trooper is inside the pack, it counts (so your Order 66 packs can be included, as well as any Clone Trooper ships and vehicles that are still boxed!)

4. ONCE WERE CLONES

Maximum number of pictures allowed: 1 picture
Picture titles must begin with "BCA4-4"

This category is for Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, Sandtroopers, or any other original-trilogy Stormtrooper variant. If you do not have a lot of Clone Troopers in your collection, then this category will hopefully allow you to compete on a level playing field. This category has been deliberately left wide-open, we are looking for the most creative, inventive and evocative picture that involves at least one Stormtrooper.

5. HELP, I'VE BEEN CLONED

Maximum number of pictures allowed: 2 pictures
Picture titles must begin with "BCA4-5"

Another "anything goes" category, this award is for any Star Wars item that you have multiples of. Ten Jabbas the Hutt? Twenty-four carbonite-encased Han Solos? Seven of the same Star Wars t-shirt? Sixty-six Darth Sidious figures? Yes, they are the kind of things we want to see!

Information about how to enter forms a part of these rules.
Submissions must be of YOUR collection.
You can submit entries in as many categories as you want but only ONCE per category.
All submissions must be posted on your profile page by Thursday, July 31st, 2008 11:59 PM EDT (American Eastern Daylight Time).
All pics must be given a title that begins with the correct code, as shown in the Award details section. You can use the "Description" text to explain more about the picture and so forth.
Ensure you do not exceed the number of pictures allowed for the category you are entering. See the Awards section to find the maximum number of pictures allowed in each category.
Duplicates will not be honored or judged.
Upon uploading your pics you must email BestCollectionAward@yahoo.com with your WOSW screen name and the categories you are entering.
We are working solely on "Honesty is the Best Policy" for everything!
Soliciting for comments, or just informing people that your pictures have been uploaded, is acceptable, as long as you mention that the pictures are entries for the "Best Collection Awards" - please do not shorten it to "BCA".
Winners will be announced right here on July 30th, 2008. The rulings of the judges are final, and no correspondence, electronic or physical, will be entered into.
By entering this contest you hereby give permission for your entry photos to be added to this profile page. Some pics maybe added as references to the contest prior to the end of the contest.
Judging will be done through two methods. The winners of the Panel-judged Awards will be decided by a secret panel of judges - knowledgeable and incorruptible collectors. The winner of the Public-judged Award will be decided by the comments and rating of each entry picture for that category.
