Axe-Do Gibet's Profile »
Gibet's Legacy
(OOC: Axe-Do Gibet is a character I created. I used him in Star Wars Galaxies when I used to play that game, built up a bit of a story....)
Name: Axe-Do Gibet
Species: Human
Height: 1.7 meters
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Light Brown
Home Planet: Corellia
Residence: 1 km outside Mos Eisley
Occupation: Smuggler/Pilot
Weapon of choice: modified DE-10 Blaster Pistol
Axe-Do Gibet grew up outside Coronet on Corellia. Son of Geoffrey and Patrycia Gibet, a middle-class family. His parents split when his father sold the family company and ran off to the Corporate Sector to strike it rich. Axe left in search of an exciting life, which lead him to CoreTech.
CoreTech was a budding galactic artisan guild. Weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, chefs, architects, and other crafters. Unfortunately, Axe had none of these skills. Instead he had a good eye, quick reflexes, and a passion for exploration. He set off to Tatooine, Naboo, and Kashyyyk to improve his skills.
On Tatooine, Axe grouped up with some mercs who heard a rumor of treasures held within Fort Tusken. Guarded by hundreds of Sand People, they fought their way inside. Finding many great artifacts and lots of credits, it seemed like it was worth the risk. Until a Tusken King emerged from the caverns. Every merc was shot down fast, except Gibet. Hiding behind broken rubble, scared for his life, Axe found a semi-operable speederbike. Tossing all the chips in the sabacc pot, Axe throttled out of the fort, cruising past the King. Flying over the fallen bodies of his comrades, Axe shot out of the Fort. Unfortuately the King got one good shot off, taking out the left repulsor engine on the bike. Out of the Fort, and with no transportation, Axe walked miles of craggy Tatooine mountains, and lengths of endless deserts.
Upon returning to Mos Eisley, Axe bought his first ship with the rewards from the Fort. He named it Axe's Blade. A small fighter with nearly no shielding, it was quick with good agility. Now, with a ship and a lot of good luck, Gibet was able to start some real smuggling for his friends back in CoreTech. A good friend, Nahmas, was able to travel with Axe and help him on his smuggling runs.
Eventually, Axe was rolling in money. The guild was highly successful and paid him well for the valuable resources and parts he was able to bring the crafters. Often times Axe would travel with his CoreTech friends, providing a heavy gun for those dangerous prospecting trips. Axe decided to buy a nice two floor home outside of Mos Eisley on Tatooine, though he kept his small apartment in Coronet.
The success caught up to Gibet, and like most lucky smugglers, he found his face on wanted posters in nearly every major city. Bounty hunters, Imperials, and Lady Valorian all wanted Axe, dead or alive. This prompted Axe to retire the Blade, and he bought the Blade II, a heavy fighter with ample cargo room. Dodging Imps and bounty hunters made his life hectic, but lively.
As a gift for his services to CoreTech, Axe was presented with a SoroSubb Luxury Yacht. Christened the Gibet's Grandeur, Axe-Do filled it with the treasures of his adventures: rare paintings, hunting trophies, valuable weapons, and Jedi artifacts.
The lucky streak would run out soon... Axe got word through a communications magnate that his father had been captured for fraudulent business deals in the Corporate Sector. Leaving his loyal friends at CoreTech, and the good money of smuggling, Axe-Do set out to the Corporate Sector in search of his father.
A few years later, Gibet returned with the Blade IV, a highly armored heavy cargo ship. Saddened and distraught after not finding his lost family member, he got even more bad news: CoreTech had been dismantled. Ruined by other powerful crafting guilds, CoreTech didn't survive. Spending lots of drunken nights in the Mos Eisley cantina, watching dancing girls, getting into shootouts and brawls, he sunk even lower.
Axe is now willing to smuggle for anyone: Imperials, opposing crime lords, and the courageous but outmanned Rebel Alliance. If the price is right, Axe will do it.
