Petra gave birth to a girl, Mara Jade, four months before the events of Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan was gone for approximately 8 months and came back; however a few days later, he had to go back after General Grievous, whom he eventually destroyed. When Anakin turned to the Dark Side and was given the command to execute Order 66, he was also told by Palpatine to go to Petra's apartment and take Mara Jade, as she was the daughter of two powerful Force beings. When Petra tried to stop Anakin and several clone troops from taking the baby, Anakin wounded her, nearly fatally. Obi-Wan, when he returned, healed her and questioned Padme as to Anakin's whereabouts. She refused to tell him and he headed back to his own. He sent Petra to Padme, seeing if she m ight open up to his wife; which of course she didnt' but Padme offered Petra a chance to see for herself the truth. Petra told Padme she already knew the truth and that she didnt' want to see it again; padme insisted, and Petra eventually gave in. She and Padme, along with 3PO and a hidden Obi-Wan went to Mustafar. Petra was reluctant to confront her evil brother, and didn't, but Padme did and it cost her her life when Anakin saw Obi-Wan emerge from teh ship. A fierce battle ensued and Anakin was dismembered, but still alive. Obi-Wan came back and gave Petra her brother's robe and lightsaber. Petra couldn't shed any tears at the moment for her fallen brother. They wetn to Polis Massa where Padme, after giving birth to her twins Luke and Leia, died.

They secretly attended her funeral on Naboo and left Leia in teh care of Sen. Bail Organa and they took Luke to Owen adn Beru Lars on TAttoine, where they lived for several years. Petra told Obi-Wan finally the truth about her and her past, and they set out to find her parents. Their plans were delayed, however, when Petra became pregnant with twins, Astra and Astin. They left the twins with teh Lars and set out for Serenno. they found an older Jedi, Jolee Bindo, who knew Obi-wan from several years before. He told them where they could find Cane Adiss, her father. HEr mother had been killed by a lethal virus that had swept through Serenno several years beforehand. They were on the verge of leaving when Petra came down with the virus and nearly died. Once she was well enough to travel, she, Obi-Wan and her father went back to Tattoine. Her father, however, passed away after only a year due to heart complications. Two weeks later, they learned the horrible truth from Owen that a virus was sweeping through Mos Eisley and had killed several people. Petra was worried that since she had taken her children into town, that her kids or her or obi-wan might catch it. Her fears were realized, when the twins had trouble breathign and died a slow, painful death. petra caught it as well and Obi-Wan spent her last three days with her. He never caught it though; for reasons he wasn't sure. Petra died and Obi-Wan was forever heartbroken at his loss, knowing that he had lost his third and final love, and a piece of him never was restored.
