Armour: Decisions, Decisions...

Brassk was sitting in the Mos Eisley cantina last night, talking armour with one of his clanmates, who asked what sort of armour he was ideally looking for. Right now, Brassk is wearing a combination of Ubese and composite armour. He's got the composite body plating and bicep pieces, along with Ubese bracers, leg armour and helmet. After a little thought and shuffling around of mental images, I think I've settled on what Brassk's armour should look like:

Arms: Ubese
Legs: Ubese
Body: Composite
Helmet: Tantel
Boots and Gloves: Who cares? Unless they're gaudy, you don't really see gloves, and on a Trandoshan, you don't see boots at all.

Okay, so I like the Ubese armour for the arms and legs, but why not the body and head? Well, the composite body armour provides a nice intimidating bulk to the character. As for the helmet...I rather like the idea of other characters actually being able to see Brassk's face! I didn't spend all that time in character creation, fiddling around with his facial features, to put a can over his head.

Brassk's clanmate, though, seemed to find the notion of mix-and-match armour odd. He's hoping to eventually get a full suit of Crusader armour. The way I look at it, sure, maybe a complete suit is nice, but mixing it up a bit, so long as it doesn't just end up looking goofy, adds a bit of originality to a character, gives you a chance to put your personal touch to your character's image, rather than taking a cookie-cutter look from the SW universe.

And besides, don't we have enough Boba Fett wannabes running around as it is? ;)

So...what does everyone here think? Full suit or mix-and-match? If you play SWG, what sort of armour, if any, does your character wear?

  1. Right now Brassk does take off the helm when wandering about, only wearing it when he's off on a mission (or if people in the cantina start pissing him off).

  2. Mix and match always did look better, and I can't agree more on the "tin can over your head" issue, there are way too many people wandering around like that, you'll all look the same. How are you supposed to stare fear into the eyes/hearts of your enemies when you have a mahoosive viser obscuring their view. It didn't make Vader more imposing, just mysterious ;)
You could always take it off when in the towns and cities?
