Brassk Gila's Profile »
Back to Brassk
My foray into humanity is over. I'm back to being a Trandoshan. How did this come about? Well, allow me to explain. I really enjoyed playing Star Wars Galaxies as human medic Thascales Koschei, but...
1. There's some sort of bug that prevents him from buffing or healing others. Sony Online Entertainment -- hereafter referred to as SOE or the Great Satan -- insists the problem is on my end. Their oh-so-professional GMs have offerred responses to my requests for help that have ranged from borderline insulting to things akin to "I haven't read your request for help at all, but here's a solution that doesn't relate in any way to your problem." I did have one GM actually try to help, but he managed only a temporary fix.
Now, here's the thing that really digs at my craw: SOE claims that I'm the only one with the problem. Yet they have a detailed multi-step "solution" for it. If I'm the first and only one having the issue, how do they so readily throw out a "delete/rename/move these specific files" faux solution?
Something's rotten in the state of SOE.
2. Thascales was a member of a guild whose leader turned out to be a nutjob. That's not an exaggeration. The maximum number of characters per server per account is two. The guy's got at least six characters, though. So he's paying something on the order of $40-$45 each month to have all of these characters, some of which he pretends aren't his and uses to test and manipulate other members of the guild. It took me a little while, but I caught him on a few slip-ups and called him on it, at which point I quit. I'm not going to play silly mindgames with a megalomaniac.
3. And that brings me to reason #3. In the time after I quit that guild, I found my way into another, bringing both Thascales and Brassk into it. It turned out to be a pretty dead guild, but it brought me into contact with someone who I think is one of the coolest SWG-ers ever (I won't name her here, though, cuz she shies away from any sort of attention). After some talking, she and I decided to start our own guild. Thus, the Commerce Union was born (more on that in another post), the focus of which is the promotion of (duh!) commerce -- legal and otherwise. A perfect venture for Brassk who had since quit the commando life and gone the way of the smuggler.
So that's the basics. Brassk is back. May whatever deity you worship, if any, have mercy on you.
