Merry Christmas World of Star Wars!!!

The following events are true. I wrote this in order to get it published in Star Wars Insider.

How Star Wars Changed My Life

I remember being five years old as my mom drove through the gates of the outdoor movie theatre at the edge of town. It was 1977 and I had no idea what I was about to see. All of the sudden, a giant wookiee stepped up to our car and waved at me. To my excitement the local actor's guild had all obtained Star Wars costumes and were dressed up walking around from car to car. I stared with dread as Darth Vader appeared from out of the darkness and strutted past my window. Just then, my uncle who was seventeen at the time and worked at the drive in, noticed my mom's bright yellow car and walked over to see us. "Can you believe this!?" He shouted. "This is so cool!" Just then a film began to roll that would forever change my destiny. I still remember being terribly scared for R2 as he was being stalked by all those jawas.

From that time on I begged for every Star Wars figure I saw, and every Christmas and Birthday wasn't complete until I unwrapped the paper to see those eight beautiful letters, STAR WARS. A very special memory even to this day, is how each of my mom's brothers and sister chipped in at Christmas when I was eight years old, and got me the Millennium Falcon. That same year my mom over slept and forgot to put out the Christmas presents and when I woke up at 5 AM to find that Santa didn't come, I panicked and began to cry. I ran to her room to tell her and she said "Oh no, no, he was here and left the presents in the closet." I ran to the closet and found them all safely wrapped up. The only things to this day that I remember from that morning are two twelve inch Star Wars figures. Han and Chewie, my favourites. They were the only things, along with the Falcon I got later that afternoon, that eased the pain of finding out there is no Santa.

Now that I'm older, I realize that Santa is in deed real and always has been. Don't ever listen to those dumb kids on the bus! I find their lack of faith disturbing!
