Boba Chopper Update.

During the Winter months of 08 and 09 things went rather slow for The Boba Chopper. Mostly becauze its cold and I don't like being in the garage. Also the garage got cluttered up at the end of fall.

Spring is here now and the garage has gotten a bit of cleaning. I now have a work bench and a large shelf unit to hold various power tools and motorcycle parts.

Alifett bought me a parts list book. It has the OEM parts numbers for when the bike was new. That can be helpfull when tring to find a very specific part.

A motorcycle shop recently opened near my house that does know old Triumphs. Thats good news for where my knowledge leaves off.

This past weekend I spent some time working on my jugs. I bought a hone to resurface the cyclinder walls. I honed them myself and began removing some old gasket where the jugs bolt to crank case. I also used a power wire brush to remove carbon scoring from the top of the jugs where the head bolts on. You can see my process posted in my photo album.

In May I hope to spend a few hundred dollars on parts and work toward completeing the Boba Chopper. To read more about The Boba Chopper, click on the "history" link at the top of my blog.
