So, I just came from the midnight screening of FANBOYS, and it was almost exactly what I expected. I laughed, A LOT, but it also had a serious heart to it. This version had the dying friend in it, which made it so poignant. And frankly, I can only imagine what a train wreck it would have been with that plotline cut out, since so much of the entire story figures around it. One word of warning: Star Trek fans are portrayed in a VERY bad light, so use caution (or leave your phasers at the door). But overall, it's a must see. And since there were only about a dozen people in the theater, it's painfully obvious how little promotyion this film is getting, so word of mouth is paramount! It's out, it's great, and it's a must-see for any fan dedicated enough to belong to this group!
