Development of the ST-92
Development of the ST-92 Inside the offices of Yaga Minor Shipyards Engineering, VP of Military Applications Colen Reddwarf arrives to his corner office with a smile on his face. He had received word of something excellent, the RGE had returned and was promising the Company a contract if they could build a prototype stealth fighter. As VP of MA, Reddwarf begins assembling a team of top developers to start the design process of the fighter. He was given instructuions on what was expected for performance. This would prove to be an interesting challenge for them. Janika Lossenz is one Reddwarf's picks for lead designer. Along side her rival, friend and second designer Cole Tarkan, they arrive at Reddwarf's office the next morning with the preliminary design. Taking into account what the requirements for the advanced fighter were and adding their own brand of ingenuity, Lossenz and Tarkan enter Reddwarf's office carrying the preliminary designs for the new fighter "Well what do you two have for me today? It better be good or you're both fired." Reddwarf barks at the two designers. Lossenz and Tarkan look at each other, knowing they were not going to be fired but rather promoted after this. "Don't worry Mr. Vice President, we have something here that is sure to satisfy." Lossenz says with a smile. Tarkan shakes his head at Lossenz. "I'm so not touching that one." "You better not, Cole." Then a loud smack comes from behind the desk as Reddwarf slams his hand down on the desk. "I don't care what either of you touch outside the office but right now lets touch the subject of the new stealth fighter. You know that this contract will put us all up for life if we can come up with the means to get it. So, what've ya got for me?" Lossenz thumbs the datapad in her hands and slowly walks over to Reddwarf to hand it to him. His activates the file that Lossenz had cued up and begins to see what they had in mind. Needless to say within the first few seconds of reading he was contemplating how big his office was going to be after this. Executor Maj-Han did say to make it look like a Stealth X and a Eta-2 had a child, what he hadn't thought about was the intricacies of a duel stealth system and made note of it. "A Stygium cloaking device and conventional stealth measures? It's a bit overkill don't you think?" This is where Tarken came into play. Being former a combat pilot, Tarkan knew what it would take to make the fighter completely invisable. "It might be but its necessary." Tarkan says bluntly. "Think of the paint, the TibannaX engines and sensor negators as the secondary stealth system. In case the cloaking device ever malfunctions the fighter has that added security." Reddwarf looks down at the datapad and reviews it, taking what Tarkan had just said under review as well. "Where is the astromech socket at?" A smile crosses Lossenz and Tarkan's faces as they realize Reddwarf's approval of the systems. "The socket for the R9's is directly behind the pilot. The R9 socket is enclosed for added protection." Lossenz says cheerfully. "Very nice work you two, you both know this screams 'promotion'." Reddwarf says with a mischevious grin. Lossenz and Tarkan smile as well, thinking that Reddwarf was talking about them. |
