My explorations took me to many different worlds, one of which was Dantooine. The world that the old council used to be on, when my mother was still a Jedi Knight. Then the Mandalorian and Sith wars happened. My father told me that they had gone to the old enclave to confront her old Masters, right before she went to defeat the Sith triumvirate. I wanted to visit the area, to find out more about my history and understand the decisions that were made. Even after her old Jedi masters tried to kill her, she still remained a Jedi and a servant of the light... seeking answers I arrived at the nearly desolate planet. The enclave itself was in ruins. I stood in the same spot that her Master's betrayed her and I felt much sadness and extreme loss. The Jedi Order had fallen so far that day, when they sought to murder the one who had aided them, who would defeat the Sith. I meditated in the deadened garden and shed a few tears at what had been lost.



After arising the Force pulled me in a different direction. I had heard my old Master's talk of a cave on Dantoonie that had unique crystals. Apparently my mother had found a crystal there that was born naturally to suit her personality. Unable to fight the urge, I followed the Force's pull. After entering the dark and wet cave I came upon a room filled with crystals of all shapes and sizes. The cavern glowed in a multi-colored aura and it was in that moment that I knew I had found the place. I walked over to one of the crystal formations and broke a piece off. Immediately I felt charged with amazing energy. I knew that the crystal in my hand was meant for me and I placed it in the pocket of my robes. I walked over to the small cavern lake on the far end of the cavern and got on my knees. I reached into the water and splashed it into my face. As the freezing water cooled me down, I noticed something glowing in the water. Curious I reached in and pulled out a small square object.



Stunned at my finding of a Jedi Holocron in the middle of an abandoned crystal cavern, I turned it over in my hands trying to figure out how to activate it. There was a groove underneath it and I placed my three fingers on the groove. Suddenly a droid appeared in the holovid on top of the holocron. It said "Processing... please identify yourself." Amazed I answered, "Lilian Rand."
The droid replied, "Authorized access to Rand... Processing."
The droid disappeared from the screen and in it's place the gatekeeper of the holocron appeared, my mother, the Jedi Exile.

"I do not have much time, I fear before the Sith hunting me are revealed. I worry for Atton, since he is not yet strong enough in the Force to comprehend what we go up against. I was at Malachor V and have seen the Sith spawned from that place... the Jedi Master's think I am one of them, but they are greatly mistaken. I fear they are blinded and will go to desperate measures to ensure I do not survive. That is why I have created this waterproof recording, in the case that anything should happen to me. I know that Atton will remember this place and if we have offspring they might come here as well. If you are receiving this holovid it is because you share the last name of Rand, and there is much I must reveal to you. The Dark side is powerful, be careful not to fall into it's trap. It will twist your mind even as you deny it's presence. After Malachor V, I almost fell. I caused the death of thousands of Mandalorians, Jedi, and Republic soliders, I felt it all through the Force. I watched the heroes Revan and Malak fall gradually into darkness even as they asserted that they were saving the Republic. This is a great lesson... even the Jedi with the purest heart and best intentions can become a slave to the dark side. This is why I have maintained true to the light ever since and will continue to do so, even if the Jedi Masters give into their fears. Always be aware of how you approach others and how you approach the Force... this will tell you without flaw, what your inner impulses are. I still believe that Revan can be trusted, even after his fall and his later redemption. I feel that he is out there and that I must go to him. I understand that I might have to leave the ones I love behind to do this, but I know the will of the Force is greater than one Jedi, including myself. I must go now, but do not forget to always see the greater picture in front of you and do not mourn me if the Force wills me to sacrifice my life. We all must join the Force one day. May the Force be in your heart and by your side."



Shaken, I set the holocron down next to me. The answer I had sought across the Outer Rim... had been answered by my mother, whom I had misjudged. I looked at my reflection in the cave water and knew exactly of what she spoke. The Force does have a will of it's own, and there is a dark and light side. Shortly after I left Dantoonie in search of an old friend, with a new found wisdom and much of my darkness released.
