On that cold day of Winter you were there
In your big blue coat that you would wear.
You looked right at me with those curious eyes
And I've always looked back, no matter
how much passes by.

We met every day at that old green fence,
To talk of silly things, but never past tense.
The games we used to play were all our own
All things that no one else would have known.

You used to call me at all hours of the day
Just to be sure that I was okay.
We'd talk until the battery was dead
Even when it was time for bed.

And every time I'd hide my tears
You saw them all throughout the years.
When they all thought it was alright
You always knew that things were tight.

When the rumors came they hit us hard
We were almost completely torn apart.
And those misunderstandings, terrible things,
They were so close to tearing our strings.

That's all past us now, and I know for sure
That no matter what, our friendship will be pure.
Though sometimes I don't believe it, can it really be?
That you, my friend, were really meant for me?
