part one of where I've been
I have been away a while and a lot has happened, so I guess I should start at the beginning.
Some time ago I was meditating on the force and had a vision that lead me to go to Cloud City on Bispin. I should explain that my vision was nothing specific, more of a voice telling me to go. This was nothing new, all of my communications with the force usually happen this way, ever since I was a child, hearing a voice telling me to go places or to do things, causing me to constantly wander away from my parents and then my masters as I got older. After having the vision, I got my ship, the Winds of Change, prepped as soon as I could and left. Upon arriving at Cloud City I discovered the beginnings of a labor dispute between the gas miners and the current city administration. Offering my abilities as a Jedi mediator I was able to get things worked out before a strike could be declared. To show their appreciation, the administrators let me stay for two weeks in a beautiful room that had a balcony that overlooked the heart of the city, and also offered to cover the cost of some upgrades to my R2 unit Deeters.
After about the third or fourth day of my impromptu vacation, I took Deeters down to the repair dock for his upgrades. "Upgrading his interface probe won't take long, but the updates to his astronav software might take and hour or two" the lead tech had told me. After confirming all the work that was to be done, and making sure that no memory wipe would be performed, the tech pointed out a shop a few doors down were I could get some parts for the Winds.
I had been in the shop for about 45 min, passing the time with my head buried in catalogs of the latest in remote fire controls for my gun turrets, and nav computer upgrades, when the gentlest most beautiful voice filled my ears. "I heard we had a Jedi guest of honor staying here, sorry it took me so long to come say hello." As I turned around and took in the woman that spoke, I did not need the force to tell me who she was, after all there were few like her in the galaxy. Long flowing black hair, eyes the color of ice that appeared as if they could peer into your soul, long lean muscles that belayed her warrior status, and her two most striking features, a set of feathery wings, some would say angelic, that were the same dark onyx as her hair, and the most beautiful corusca gem and ruby pendent that she has worn since we were best friends back on Corellia.
"Morrigan" I said as a smile wider then that of a teenager when he gets his first speeder crept across my face. "I haven't seen you since we were..." "Five, and running around the shipyard driving my father nuts" she interrupted. Chuckling at the memory of our childhood, I begun to ask her what she was doing here when I saw the badge that hung on her belt right next to the vibrosword sheathed on her hip. "The head of security for all of Cloud City I see. Speaking of your father, I'm sure he's proud." To this, her only response was a smile. "What?" I asked playfully. "I've missed you" she said. Smiling the broadest most genuine smile I think I ever have, I replied, "And I you." After a moments hesitation, we both came forward and embraced each other deeply. As the warmth from her body warmed mine, our memories and experiences from the last twenty years flowed between us, but not through the force, but through that stronger deeper connection that we shared, making it seem as if we had never been apart. All of our joys, our sorrows, trials and triumphs, loves and losses flowed between us. All of the images that made us laugh and cry flowed between us through the whirlwind that was our bond. After what seemed an eternity, but was probably only a few seconds, Morrigan pulled back a little and said, "sorry I couldn't catch up with you sooner but..." she playfully punched my arm, "...you never left your room." Rubbing my arm in feigned hurt and laughing slightly, I looked into her eyes and replied with the most honest answer I could, "If I would have known the view was going to be more beautiful down here, I never would have gone up there at all."
