Collection History Ep. II
Last time we posted we talked about our 4 rules that we made up at the start of or collecting, in case you missed it they are:
1. We would never buy anything that we could not open.
2. We would never open any "special" toys that we did not have two of.
3. Fifty dollars was our limit for any one item except on Legos.
4. We would not cheat on Star Wars with "other toys".
Well, rule number 1 was broken when we got the "Star Wars Collector's Wish Book", that changed everything as far as opening was concerned. For a couple of months we were scared to open anything for fear that a Star Wars fan died everytime a package was opened. Now we're back to opening if it's something we want to display or play with like the new GH Millennium Falcon, that was just begging to be played with. We still have bought things knowing that we wouldn't open them like the Hoth and Endor Battle Pack, just too big to display but we could if we wanted to...
Maybe...

I think I need some rules cause my spending is only controlled by some random order and I've passed up a bunch of great items that I might have bought if I had some guidelines. As far as opening goes I really don't like to open the 30th anniversary unless I have two but if it belongs to my son he can do as he pleases. Those Hoth and Endor Packs are a great value and really cool. I may have to pick those up on e-bay as I don't have an at-st and I'm trying to get some of the ships. I'm not a completionist collector. I only collect what I love and thats the fun of it!posted Mar 11, 2008 5:33 AM | Report Abuse
