Questions with no answers for me
I am not a good writer. I have the words in my head but not the ability to convey them into words. I hope you can bear with me. If you can't then it isn't my problem. Sue me!
I have questions I may never get answered. I am sure out of the approximately 7 billion people on this planet there are those who ponder some of the same questions. And just maybe some of these same questions have already been answered at one time or another in another media. If they have I haven't ever run across them or met anyone who could give me a good explanation. Good theories not proof.
I realize that this isn't detrimental to my health physically if I don't get the answers I seek but it will drive my crazy until I draw my last breath. It will be like an itch I can't reach.
OK my questions are (and not neccessarily in order of importance)
Why doesn't Ben acknowledge R2 or 3PO in Episode IV? It isn't like Ben wouldn't remember who they were. I mean he had a conversation with Anakin in Episode III about R2's losse wiring and actually had physical conatact with 3PO
after he defeated Anakin on Mustafar.
How did Obi Wan come up with the name Ben?
Did Qui Gon and Obi Wan come from the same home world and what was it's name?
What is Yoda's species? I recall just before Episode I there would be one more of Yoda's kind shown. I don't know if the rumor was true but at the funeral of Qui Gon there is a shot of Yoda and just behind him to the left is a character who is a scarred, pink, one eyed Jedi who is slightly taller and somewhat resembles him.
What made Leia a princess if whe was adopted by Bail and his wife? Bail was no king and his wife no queen. And since Leia's identity was hidden but from only a few why did they call her princess? Also this one really bugs me. How could she have memories of her ral mother but not of Luke, who didn't remember Padme at all? And why didn't Ben remember there was another when he was there for the birth of the twins?
OK I understand why 3P0 didn't remember who Vader was, his memory was wiped, but on Bespin Why couldn't Vader go "Oh hey there Dude! I remember you. I built you! How have you been? Boy I sure missed you!" And to the Stormtroopers," Hey fellas check this out. I built this dude over twenty years ago for my moms on Tatooine." Or something to that extent.
How was the Force balanced by Anakin? In the Expanded Universe are there not more Sith? Maybe the Prophecy meant it would balance out for a couple of years and need to be rebalanced like a set of tires on your car.
Weren't the Emperor and Vader the most powerful men in the Galaxy? How did Tarkin get control over Vader?
What is the monster in the Death Star trash compactor called?
What is the gas Tibana used for?
Are there any Wookie Jedi?
Alright I know these questions are just nit picking a science fiction movie but still...

Yes, there are wookiee jedi, but not very many of them, Lucas didn't like the idea of Wookiee Force Sensitives, so there have only been two wookiee Jedi to ever play a big part in the Universe.
Tibanna Gas is used for starfighter engines, see the Stealth X for refrence.
The moster in the Death Star is a dianoga.
Tarkin didn't neccesarily control Vader, so much as he did act his supperior.
Anakin brought balance to the Force by being a follower of the Light then falling to the Dark, then redeeming himself. Supposedly, I'm still rather fuzzy on it.
I'm pretty sure Vader did find 3PO in a comic, but it wasn't deemed cannon ... maybe it was Tag and Bink.
Ben did remember that there was another Skywalker, but he didn't say it to Luke. The reason that he called Luke their "last hope", IMO, is because Luke was the only one of the two that outright emraced his Force potential.
Yoda's species remains unknown, even the great GL has not made an official statement regarding Yoda's species, the other one that was mentioned was Yaddle, and she did make an appearence, but "died" during the clone wars.
Thats as far as my knowledge goes ... but thats mainly off the top of my head.
As for Obi Wan and the droids, remember he never said he owned and to him, droids were nothing more than a tool, I imagine he more pressing issues on his mind then worrying about R2 or C-3PO. Any other answers, I think you'd have to ask the man himself, Lucas, for more answers...
