Mara Jade Skywalker

Aayla jumped out of the transport before Bly could answer. Air whistled around her and, all too soon, Aayla?s vision was obscured by a massive green blur. As she tumbled, Aayla drew and ignited her saber. Snap hisss!!!! There was a flash of blue, then Aayla plunged the ardent blade into the acklay?s back. A terrible screech filled Aayla?s ears and the enraged acklay reared, throwing her into space. Aayla flipped midair and landed hard in a mud puddle. A prickle in the Force caused her to throw her body to the left just as a huge claw slammed into the soggy earth. Another scream, and suddenly Aayla was dodging for her life. Razor sharp claws rained from above, one catching her right calf. Aayla hacked one leg off at the knee joint and another near the top, but the acklay kept coming. Leaping into the air, Aayla slashed towards the beast?s head, but was intercepted by a claw. Aayla thudded to the ground. Blackness clouded her vision and Aayla lay in the mud gasping for air.
Get up get up get up!!! Aayla managed to roll just in time to avoid being impaled. Distantly she could hear her troopers attacking the other acklays. Leaping to her feet, Aayla jumped onto the nearest fungus growth, which almost matched the acklay in height. Aayla whipped her arm back and threw her saber with all her might. Her aim was true and the weapon plunged through the acklay?s neck. Letting out one last roar, the monster toppled to the ground. Aayla stepped off the plant and landed gracefully in the mud, splashing gunk all over her robes.
One down, two to go. This is going to be fun.
Picking up her saber, Aayla glanced around and spotted a green blue blur rampaging to her right. Aayla sprinted towards the battle, wondering belatedly where Bly was.
No time for that! The acklay are slaughtering my soldiers! Aayla pushed Bly from her mind and leapt towards the next acklay.
This one was smaller, but no less ferocious. There where eleven clones firing madly at it and causing minor damage, which just made the thing angrier. Aayla jumped up and landed on a bulbous pitcher plant. Waving her saber, Aayla succeeded to attract the acklay?s attention away from the floundering soldiers. The acklay let out a scream and charged towards her. Remembering her fight with the last acklay, she threw her lightsaber at the beast?s head. This time, the blade seared across the acklay?s facial plate and burned out both its eyes.
Oh boy. Aayla had only time to wince before the acklay smashed into the plant on which she was standing. The impact sent her tumbling through the air and caused her to lose track of her lightsaber. Aayla smashed into something hard and sharp. Shaking her head, Aayla glanced up and groaned.
Sure. I happen to hit the ONLY rock on Felucia. Lucky me. Aayla got up and looked around for the now-blind acklay. She didn?t have a problem seeing it- the acklay was headed right towards her.
Great. Now I don?t have a weapon. Aayla did a Force flip over the boulder and settled into a crouch, searching furiously for some sort of weapon to use against the rapidly approaching acklay.
Come on, come on, come on!!! Why can?t fungi have regular branches like trees?!? Aayla leapt back as a huge leg jabbed over her cover. Aayla sprinted out from behind the rock and suddenly an idea formed in her mind. Stretching out in the Force, Aayla grabbed the rock with her mind and heaved upwards.
Ugh. This rock is heavier than I imagined? Nevertheless, Aayla persisted and yanked the whole rock out of the ground. A urging in the Force sent her dodging sideways as the acklay took another shot at her, almost causing her to loose her grip on the boulder. Aayla swung her arm and the rock moved in tandem, flying straight into the acklay?s side. A deafening roar rattled Aayla?s eardrums, and the acklay collapsed with a sickening crunch.
Eeeww. Aayla wrinkled her nose as she edged her way around the dead acklay. Spotting a flash of metal out of the corner of her eye, Aayla jogged over and retrieved her saber hilt. She wiped the weapon clean on her hip as she made her way towards the last acklay.
Off to the side, Aayla could sense her troops fighting against the remaining acklay. The clones had the beast pinned against a sheer cliff face and had somehow managed to crack the acklay?s shell in three different places. As she drew near, Aayla?s comlink pinged. Aayla snapped it off her belt and spoke into the feed.
?Aayla here.?
?Aayla, this is Bly.? She could hear blasters discharging in the background and the acklay?s feral roars. ?It?s trapped, but we won?t be able to hold it for long. Could you get up on the cliff and jump down on it? I?m loosing men fast.?
?Sure. Give me one standard minute, ok?? Aayla changed directions and headed up to the top of the cliff.
?Yeah. Don?t be late.? Bly sounded stressed. Aayla cut the transmission, replaced her comlink, and began to sprint. She knew that every second lost could mean another of her men dead. Finally she reached the edge of the cliff. Below her a battle raged. The acklay was backed against the rock wall and was thrashing out at the clone troopers, who had formed a rough semi circle around it. Gauging the distance, Aayla took a deep breath and stepped off into space.
