Unable to Go Back Unhanding Down Figures To Relatives

What a mistake i made years ago, when i turned 10 (some 23 years ago - in a galaxy far far away) i handed down my Star Wars figures to an ungrateful spoilt distant relative! I wish now that i had kept hold of them, i've got my first child on the way and what an heirloom they'd be! Any one else done anyhting sooo stupid??
